Not that great
I took the plunge and ordered this to replace my old blender (which has been working fine). We kept it for 2 weeks and were not really blown away. Our blender does just as good of a job as the vitamix. The blender actually does better with frozen fruit which is what we use in our smoothies. Frozen fruit in the vitamix jammed it. Not impressed for the price tag.

Madly in Love
This has been a dream purchase for several years. Finally got it on a TSV with the pay by month help. It has been used 2 or 3 times a day already. Cannot wait until my summer vacation when I get to play with it even more.
In one week, I have already lost 3 pounds by making my own smoothies. Freezing all my bananas to put in protein smoothies. Only once have I added some stevia to make something for breakfast. Usually the fruits are sweet enough, and I throw everything in from my bi-week food-co-op.
Thanks for a new way of living.

Favorite Kitchen Appliance
Never in my life would I have thought I could spend this much on a kitchen counter appliance, but after I watched the demonstrations on QVC when it was a TSV, I am so glad I purchased it. If in doubt, watch the video...it demonstrates everyhing this product can do. I use it daily for smoothies and have also made sherbet, quacomole, peanut butter as well. Can't wait for the colder months to try the soup recipes included in the cookbook that comes wiht this item. Seriously, if in doubt, just purchase and make a handful of the recipes in the cookbook. You won't be disappointed!! Also, wanted to add that I like this size as opposed to the larger 64 oz blender b/c this one fits underneath my counter...and you will want to keep it on your counter as you will use it all the time.

not so sure
Still trying it out. Used frozen fruit so far and it doesn't blend that well. Sorry I bought this. Someone please talk me into loving this! Too late to return.

Much quieter than the old Vitamix blenders
A few months ago, I ordered the 2-speed Vitamix TSV (with dry container) and sent it back for a few reasons - I felt variable speed would be better (it is), I wanted the "pulse" option and the "old" one was so LOUD my husband would have to leave the kitchen area and go to another part of the house.
When I saw this one with the variable speed, I jumped on it. It is much LESS NOISY - even at speeds of 9 or 10. I read on another board that tests and compares Vitamix machines that this is 40% less noisy and I believe it. Has a nice DVD that has good examples of using variable speed. Gave up the dry container in the swap, but frankly I'm not sure how much grinding of grains I'd be doing.
Does a super job of pulverizing grapes and kale, for example, when they're put in a smoothie. If your smoothie is too thick, try adding a bit more water the next time.

Exactly as demonstrated!
I had been considering trying a Vitamix and saw the demo on QVC and ordered it. I knew if it wasn't what I needed, I could return it. I've had it for several weeks and love it! We make mostly healthy smoothies and sorbets with it and I am very pleased with it. We make the smoothies with spinach, kale, apples, and many other fruits and veggies. They always are very drinkable and smooth. I have a juicer and it is just harder to use and to clean, plus so much of the veggie or fruit is wasted. The Vitamix is so efficient and easy to clean. It is loud, but so are some other appliances with a lot of power. Nothing takes very long, so the noise isn't really an issue with me. QVC and Vitamix both have numerous recipes online so it is easy to find some you really like.

LOVE IT
Had this for three weeks so far and have used it every day. I am a big smoothie fan and love how I can throw whole fruits and veggies in it and still get a fantastic smoothie. Yesterday I cored an apple and threw the whole thing in with some kale, spinach, pineapple chunks and yogurt. Seriously, does it get any healthier than that? My blender couldn't even break up ice. Cant wait to try the sorbets. It is an investment, but if you are somebody who will actually utilize the powerful motor every day, it is so worth the investment.

Freakin' Awesome!
I had been coveting a Vitamix for a while, but the price held me back. I finally decided on getting the TSV and I'm glad I did. I consider it an investment that should last me many years. This machine really will pulverize as demonstrated. Now I can make smoothies with apples keeping the peel on (retaining more nutrition), use up over-ripe fruit, and it blends ice in beautifully. Still trying different recipes. This machine was well worth its price.

It's a pricy blender, not much more!
I thought I would really like this machine but I don't. Used it over three weeks and decided the price was way too expensive for the use I would get out of it. Just figured with all the great reviews, I was missing out on something good. Well....not so much, not for me anyway.

It's a blender
And a super one at that. I think I was looking more for a juicer, something that takes some of the fiber out. But this is a blender. I would have liked to receive the dry ingredients container with it, and feel like for the price it should have come with that.
I will say it works better than my regular blender but then for the price it should.
I am not sure I would purchase it again, or recommend it unless someone is looking for a super blender.
I think I got caught up in the hype on t.v. and didn't really think about what I was looking for. I am debating on sending it back and purchasing a juicer

Best thing ever. Made pineapple sorbet. Ground our own meat. FANTASTIC. You will not be disappointed.
