Vitamix Creations 48 oz. 15-in-1 2-Speed Blender w/Dry Container
purchased 02/13 and now the speeds are working. called vita mix and on hold with 13 ahead of me
Glad I bought the Vitamix
I didn't open this for months, what was I thinking. I was using a Nina thinking I didn't need the Vitamix. I was so wrong. The best blender I have ever used. This one may not be the biggest one Vitamix makes but it did have the dry container, which is a value on its own. I have made smoothies, creamy & rich. Best ever. I can't wait to make soup. I did see they have a tamper holder now. Wish they would make as an extra order item. I would gladly buy. Would gladly buy for my Daughters.
I think this is an excellent machine. That being said, however, it wasn't pointed out much in the QVC demo that there is NO variable speed. The other machines I've seen, even at a lower price, have the variable speeds. I think the ante was "upped" by adding in the dry container....therefore, the NO variable speed aspect tends to be overlooked. I DO like this machine, but now wish I had purchased the variable speed. It makes the recipes much easier that way.
We purchased 6 months ago, love, love, love-use every day for smoothies . and makes everything we have tried in it faster, with less mess.
Waste Of Money
Overheated after machine was on only less than a minute. Tried making hummus it won't even blend the chick peas just keeps shutting off. We have to keep turning off and stirring it.same thing happened when we tried making almond milk.my excitement turned to frustration and anger.I was in hospital when this came in and couldn't use it until four months after I received otherwise I would have returned for a refund.
Ok, had serious doubts about this item, it's pricey, and looked complicated...figured that I had til January 31st to make up my mind. Well, I have been vitamixing into a frenzy...made apple pie ice cream and broccoli cheddar soup...I am not even kidding, it's amazing! Delicious ! Yummy! Easy Peasy ! Cannot wait to try almond butter!
I purchased one when my daughter became seriously ill. In order to manage her diet, she had to resort to "nutrition" shakes to get through her treatment. The original one is still in daily use after 11 years. I've purchased several as gifts for family members and recommended to friends with health issues. Granted the Vitamix is very pricy, but thanks to QVC's easy pay, doable. I've tries many blenders and "shake" mixers-they just do not compare!!
Go With Variable Speed Vitamix
I enjoy preparing delicious fruit and veggie smoothies. Peanut Butter is fantastic. Plan on making almond butter too. Just disappointed that I didn't order the variable speed for chopping or dicing vegetables. At the time I purchased this model, I didn't shop QVC online and was unaware that a variable speed was offered. So, to my friend, I'd highly recommend investing a little more money for the performance and versatility of a variable speed Vitamix.
I have had this machine for a year now and I hate it it only has 1 speed. I tried to make smoothies and there was lots of noise the motor sound like it was burning up. I have only used it about 5 times in that year and each time it's messy and didn't work like they advertised it. VERY DISAPPOINTED! Wish I could exchange it for the one with the dial with different speed.
On the fence too
I have been wanting a Vitamix for some time now and decided to take the leap when it was a TSV. I have used it many times for the frozen banana dessert. It is a hit at our house for that reason. Two frozen bananas, one unfrozen banana, 1 utensil tablespoon of organic peanut butter, and one small piece of high quality chocolate candy, use the plastic tamper to push the unprocessed food down and in a short time....yum. The key is to push the food toward the blades and not blend too long otherwise it will make it more liquid. I have served this with a small piece of brownie and our guests wanted more. Banana goes with so many other fruits, I plan to experiment. Ok, so for the savory items. I have only tried making salsa using the low speed option and ended up with a liquid non chunky salsa. With limited speeds, I think one's options are limited. I have not tried the soups yet but plan to do so. After reading some of the recipes’ provided. I am a little disappointed I have to cook most items before using the Vitamix to make soup. I could cook it in the pot and use my immersion blender. What is the point? Maybe when I make the soup, I will see why it was marketed that way. All in all it is too early for me to know if I should have spent the extra money and purchased a multiple speed Vitamix.
Happy with purchase
Not disappointed. AMERICAN COMPANY. Have used several times a week. Good for dry and wet. Thought I could cook soup in it, but doesn't get hot enough for us. Cold soups are easy! Would buy again; would like multi speeds. There is one with multiple speeds now.
I Love the Vitamix soooo much...I wish I can just keep upgrading but its very pricey. Looking back I would pay maybe $150.00 but double that is just a bit crazy but worth the one time sacrifice (:
