Rated 5 out of 5 by Daniel12334 Best Virgin Mobile Phone Yet!
I have been a Virgin Mobile customer for over 4 years. I have used Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, and TracPhone in the past. For our family Virgin Mobile offers the cheapest phone and data plan combinations. They also have great coverage in our area. Even though it's Virgin Mobile, it utilizes the Sprint Nationwide Network.
This particular phone is the best lower-end smart phone Virgin Mobile has come out with so far. With 4 people in our family using smart phones, we have tried many Virgin Mobile phones. I have friends that have $700 (and higher) cell phones and that makes me nervous because it's a small, portable device and they get dropped and spilled on, etc. And when you lend your phone to a 4 year-old to watch movies on, you never know what condition it might be returned in. It's less stressful to own and it is fast and reliable.
I have lots of apps installed on it. I use it for banking, social media, email, camera, calendar, and of course the phone feature. It's an Android operating system so you need to create a Google account, if you don't already have one. The speaker phone on this Samsung Galaxy J3 is better than the HTC Desire 816, which is another pretty good lower-end Virgin Mobile phone. It has expandable storage ( I use a 16 GB SD card) and the actual phone storage is better then the HTC Desire. The processing speed is faster, and videos look more crisp on the Samsung screen. I like the larger screen. I can't see how people use anything less than a 5 inch screen these days.
I'm planning on buying another one of these phones. This time it will be for my 16 year-old because his old phone had a severely cracked screen. His Virgin Mobile plan is $30 a month with unlimited talk, text, and 500 MG of data. He mostly uses Wifi for the internet. My plan is $45 a month for unlimited text, talk, and 8GB of data. That's usually plenty of data for me. If you run out of data before the service month is up, you can buy more as an add-on.
I hope this review helps!
