NICE ADDITION TO MY COIN NECKLACE I noticed some thought the coin was 14k, that would have added a few more zeros to the price. Some coins you might want in 14k just buy the coin and have it put into a bail. I did this on an American gold coin and it is lovely. This is just a symbol coin with meaning nonetheless. If you like coin charms or pendants it is a good buy. I love charm necklaces, so mine is being used on a pretty chain as a "charm" coin. Just an idea. To clean the coin use a natural product like BioCleaner (Q has). It won't hurt the gold either. I usually just dip my chain/coins in mild dish detergent/warm water after wearing, rinse, roll in a towel to dry, bingo. Enough said. Enjoy! 07-01-12
I love this guy! I absolutely love this pendant. Pope John Paul was an amazing person and I already have him on a keychain that my father gave me directly from the Vatican. If anyone has ever watched the show "Family Guy", they know what I mean when I say that he is the "Freakin Pope!". 11-10-11
Turned green I loved this pendant when I purchased it, however after wearing on and off for a couple of months the coin has started turning green on the backside. The bale is still bright and now doesnt really match the piece. Dissapointing. 06-13-11
Green Gold??? I purchased this a year or so ago. I love the look and the feel of the piece. The weight is nice and it matched my other lire jewelry. It lost its luster after about 2 months so I was not able to return it. It also started turning a green color on the back side of the pendant. I am disappointed in the quality since there wasn't any longevity in this item. I also paid more for it than this price. SORRY the review couldn't be better because I typically love the pieces that I purchase from QVC. 06-08-11
Very pleased! So pleased with this coin pendant. It is a true reminder of my trip to Italy and the Vatican and a wonderful symbol of my faith. Mine is a shiney piece of gold even though the coin is not of l4Kt. Thanks QVC! 06-03-11
So So Piece I read all the reviews & agree the discription was very misleading to many, but I already knew the Lires were not real gold.....I paid much less & still don't think a very good value. My coin has really darkened for some reason, so guess need to find a polish for it, hence have never worn. Also the 14K bail is very thin....wish I had returned. 05-20-11
A Lira Is Not A Gold Coin I have this pendant & it's a great rememberance of my Italy trip. The lira coin is not a gold coin, nor was it ever represented to be. The buyers who thought they were buying a 14k gold coin need a to pay more attention to what they are buying.. With the price of gold reaching $1500, you should be lucky to be able to buy a piece of history at this extremely reasonable price. 05-07-11
BEAUTIFUL AND VERY SPECIAL I purchased this Vatican Coin pendant months ago, and it is still as shiny and beautiful as the day I received it. I have gotten so many compliments on my pendant, and I always say, "It's a Vatican coin, with the image of Pope John Paul on it." This pendant is very special to me, and I treasure it. I'm glad that I was able to purchase it. Thank you QVC. 05-06-11
Disappointed I love the pendant and the story behind it but was disappointed that the coin was not 14k Gold. And I agree with the other review that the description on the pendant should be changed to reflect this fact. 04-29-11
14 K gold or not? I bought this coin as a present for an aunt who is a Pope Paul VI admirer. It was advertised and I noticed it still is, as being 14K gold including the bail. Upon receipt the proof of purchase indicated the coin was not gold but.some other metal (not mentioned in the description on TV or internet). I called to inquire and was told that only the bail was 14K gold. The coin is nice but misrepresented and you should make the necessary changes in your description, and maybe adjust the price, I see now it is even more than I paid for it. Since the inception of the Euro i would think the lire is worthless. 04-14-11
