This harness was originally ordered in X-large for my 85lb white boxer. I was too big for him so I ordered down and exchanged it for a large and it fits perfect. It doesn't tug or pull anywhere on him and is comfy and helps him feel secure. The neck area as well as what goes across the chest and over the back are both adjustable for the perfect fit. He cannot do his Houdini act in this harness like he can wiggle out of other harnesses. I bought this for him in 2012 and I see that they still have them available. But his has worn well and is tough so there is not need to replace it and order another one! I may get one so that it's bright shiny and clean again for dress up days. lol

I agree with the last reviewer, the item I received is also not the one pictured although it is from the same brand/maker as written in the description. The one I received does not have the fleece lining as in the picture and description. In place of the fleece, it is a padded mesh on the inside and the outside is a sturdy nylon material. The harness might be a little confusing to work with at first but after a few times putting it on my dogs, it is actually easy and each time I use it, I can appreciate its design and function. The actual harness comes with a piece of nylon webbing strap (not shown in the picture) that have a dogleash clip on one end (to attach to the harness when being worn by your dog) and a metal link on the other end through which you will loop your seatbelt to hold your dog in place. I appreciate the first reviewer's posting that suggested to loop the metal link on the 'seat' part of the seatbelt instead of the 'shoulder' part. I had attached mine to the 'shoulder' part of the backseat seatbelt and my dog can still come halfway to the front of the car because the shoulder part can get pulled farther much easier (she's a spunky 9-month old, obedient but is very determined when she wants something). I will be moving it to the seat part of my backseat seatbelt. Giving 5 stars for the product itself but 4 stars for QVC's erroneous listing description and picture.

The one I received had a thin foam padding chest and bwt. legs. Saddly there was no
padding in the shoulder area only webbing, which could lead to alot of damage in an accident. In certain circumstances webbing can be very unforgiving.
So I can not evaluate the one pictured accurately only the one I received. I will say the buckles and hardware were very good, but padding and design was not right for my dog...I will keep looking...It is a big leap from a 40 - 80lb dog structurally....

I love this for my Rotti dog, he rides shotgun with me and I used to always be afraid that he would get hurt if I ever had to stop short or if I ever got into an accident so I had been looking for something like this for a very long time. This harness is very well made, my dog is comfy in it and very well protected, it doesn't bother him and I have peace of mind that he is safe and buckled in. This was worth every penny.
Rated 5 out of 5 by jenb4343 I feel so much safer driving with my dog now.
I was driving with one hand protecting my dog (who rides shotgun with me), and fearing some other driver would do something stupid and she might fly into the dash board and be injured.
The belt is cushioned and well constructed. It is easy to put on my dog and she does not fuss while being "dressed"
It holds her firmly in the seat without over constraining her and she can lay down if she wishes. You can fasten the safety harness belt to the seat part or the shoulder part of the car seat belt (which is fastened). I use the seat part for the most protection.
The safety dog harness is less expensive than harsnesses that I have looked at, at the pet stores and MUCH better constructed, offering flexability to the dog and better safety protection.
