Tria Beauty Next Generation 4X Laser Hair Removal for Face & Body
Works Fairly Well
Having used this for over a year now, I can say it works well, but not completely. The darker, thicker hairs are gone, but the finer ones come back. I gradually ramped up to a 4 or 5 level as those thicker ones were removed. Otherwise, it is too painful. With fine hairs, a 5 doesn't hurt. But this takes quite a while to do. If you are patient, and can do only a small area at a time, and don't mind some pings of pain once in a while, it's a great product. Does get hot, so I limit the time.
Worth a Try
I was excited to try Tria hair removal and see if it worked for me. I started at level 3 and was able to work up to level 5 within a few days. At first it felt like a rubber band snapping against your skin, but the sensation (I wouldn't call it pain) subsided with each use. I have fair skin, and the Tria did NOT work on my light leg hair. It DID work on my dark brown armpit hair. Some hair follicles you can see no longer have hair and the hair that is left is finer. However, I still have armpit hair. I was hoping for more drastic results, and I was using the unit 3-5 times a week during the 90 day return period to speed results. At the end of the 90 days I was only using the unit on my armpits, and was not thrilled with the results, so I decided to return the Tria since I did not find it worth the investment. Definitely something you just need to try for yourself. Take advantage of the 90 day return period!
Great in home treatment
I was hesitant to purchase this item based on the range of the reviews & the cost. Decided to give it a try since QVC has a generous return timeframe. I have used this weekly for about 2 months & feel not one single regret. My hair growth has slowed down a great deal. I am at the point I no longer need to shave under my arms prior to my next treatment date. I am only using it at this time for my chin area & underarms. With such a small treatment surface on the Tria, I know I will never have the time or patience to use it on a larger area like my legs but that is just me. Make sure before purchasing you understand if this item will work for your skin color & hair coloring (I have medium skin tone & dark brown hair). You also have to understand that using the Tria is not pain free. From the first time I used the Tria, I had the setting on 5. I want the maximum results in the shortest amount of time. With each pulse, there is a split second feeling of pain/heat as it treats the hair. I apply some numbing cream to the treatment site about 1/2 hour prior to starting the treatment. The Tria gel also makes the treatment more comfortable. Honestly-what hair removal treatment does not cause discomfort? This discomfort is working toward a lifelong solution, not a temporary one! I wish I had gotten this when I was younger as I do have a few white hairs that I know the Tria will not be able to treat. The only reason I gave this a 4 star rating was due to the cost of the unit & the small treatment surface area on the Tria.
Works to eliminate hair but broke after 4 months
I purchased this product and it was simple to use with good results but it broker after 4 months. Every time I tried to turn it on, it got an error on the screen and turned back off. Returns are cumbersome and the replace never worked correctly. It was obvious it was not new but refurbished. When the fan comes on, I get an error and won't work. If I keep trying, after 4 or 5 tries it will stay on but doesn't seem to remove hair as good as the first one. And, the warrenty does not start over when you get a replacement, even if it doesn't work. I paid $400 for a product that worked for only 4 months. But while it worked, I thought it was amazing. But I would never recommend it to anyone.
Didn't see a difference.
I've had professional laser done. This doesn't even come close. I don't like the fact that it's disposable. It's only good for so many pulses, then in the trash it goes. I'm going to continue with the real deal and get guaranteed results. Save yourself the time and money.
not working for me
I've done profesional laser removal with 2 companys prior, total of 18 treatments, I have been using this product for about 2 month now, i'm half asian with black coarse hair, Ihave about 20 hairs left in each armpit from 1set6 profesional treatment, & the tria laser won't get rid of them, I have used the tria almost every day and several times a day bc the battery only has a 15-30 min battery depending if on level 1 or 5 with a 2 hour charge & it takes 2-3 charges to do just 1 leg from the knee down, I will say professional lasers are less painful and u get results. & with groupon now u can treat 3- 5 areas 6 times for the same price of 1 tria, I will continue to use for 1 more month b4 returning but as of now no hair loss and very time consuming i'd rather just lay there with less painful laser and get it all done in 15mins-1hour by a professional, tria said it takes 8 treatments on highest level to equal 1 treatment by professional, well i've done about 40 treatments at level 5 in same spot & no results, good luck every1 with trying to b hairless. mayb i'll try again with tria 5x when it ever comes out, hopefully with a better less painful laser and at least a 2 hour battery life, nothing like getting started and the battery goes dead. idk just disapointed i was really wanting this product to work for me.
did not work for me
I decided to spend the money, believing that so long as I had fair skin and brown hair, this thing work for sure to remove hair permanently - and after all - even though this device is expensive, it is cheaper than a series of hair removal treatments at the doctors office. Well, after using it as directed for the past year and on the highest setting, the hair is not gone. I might have had a small patch of hair gone for a short time while actively using the device, but now that I have given up, that hair is back, too. The rest of the areas I treated did not respond to this even while actively using it. Are there just some of us despite having fair skin and brown hair that this just does not work on???? What a waste of hundreds of dollars....
A True Life Saver
I had been wanting the Tria for some time now. I put it on my Christmas list and it showed up under the tree. I have olive skin and dark hair. I take a medication that promotes facial hair growth, especially on my chin. I had to pluck daily. Not any more!!!!!! I used the laser and started off on level 2 now I am up to a 5. I used it once a week for a couple of weeks and now only when I see a scarce hair that might have popped up form a new follicle that might have not been zapped prior. I am working on my arm pits but I am only at a level 3. There is a difference but it's not totally gone yet. The levels really does make a difference, the higher the better.I am also working on my legs, bikini area, and my arms. I am seeing results. My motto is " No pain no gain". Ladies keep zapping it does work!
Grateful for this Item!
I bought this a year ago. I have medium/olive colored skin, and the Tria has worked on me. It is an expensive item but I thought it was worth a good try. In my opinion IT WAS. I'm not the kind to go to somewhere and have this done so was grateful that I use it in my own home and try it for months at home before deciding if it worked. Thank you QVC. It has not removed my hair completely 100% but has made SUCH a difference that I continue to use it happily.
So far so good!
I've had my Tria for 5 week. It's working great for my underarms, I don't have to shave everyday & the hair looks thinner than before. I also treat my face, legs, arms & bikini area. The bikini area is where I'm having problems bcuz its more sensitive and it hurts the most. And read several tips of making the treatments bearable. Like taking Advil, applying a numbing cream used for waxing, tattooing & laser treatments and also freeze the skin (big thanks to brumblebunny another reviewer for sharing this tip) it helped me big time & making my treatments painless especially the bikini area. So far, I'm very happy the with results. I should be hairless by summer time :).
gave my life back
I have hormone issues and have facial hair so bad that I would shave or tweeze at 7 am and then again at noon and then again mid evening I never left the house for more than 4 hours at a time ,I now have the freedom to not shave or tweeze for 7 SEVEN days that's 7 days and what I do need to tweeze or shave are white hairs that the tria will not take care of .I am so overwhelmed with emotion TRIA gave me my life back.thank you so much. It does hurt depending on the coarseness of you hair but it is worth the little bit of pain I saw a big difference the second time I used it ,if you are on the fence please don't wait one more day buy it you will be so glad you did.
QVC and Tria life saver!!!!
I was waiting to write this review because I wanted to give a very honest opinion. I purchase my Tria at the beginning of November 2013, at first I wasn't sure if I was doing it wright because it was not working the why I was expecting it to work, I was confuse to whether I was suppose to shave before the treatment or let the hair grow out and then use the treatment, so I tried shaving first, I saw no big difference and I did it for about 21/2 months used it every week started of on #1 know on #3 . But just as I was getting ready to give up and return it I decided to let the hair grow out then zap and wallllla!!!! it worked, I got perfect results I have not seen any hair for about 4 days, I'm so exited. I used to pluck 2 times a day, now I may just have to pluck 1 or 3 sheen hairs every four days this machine does what it says. I'm a African American female, brown skin, 42 yeas old, and I have very course hair I have been fitting sheen hair for about 10 years and it was getting out off control, I was so scared that this would affect me in my day to day life. However, not any more I barely see any hair and the one that do come out are practically dead. I used to use a cream and still had to pluck every day and if I stop using it, it would come back worse. the cream was to expensive ( over $100 a month) the cream only lasted 30 days, I used that cream for almost 3 year, so you can imagine how much money I wasted, so I prayed about it and decided to just invest in the Tria, best decision I have ever made. Now I'm only hopping that eventually all of those black spots on my sheen will go way but, even if they do not I'm just grateful the hair is gone. Also as a final note: #3 it is somewhat painfull but is so worth it. I don't use this machine anywhere else on my body maybe one day but the area I was most worried about was my sheen, I can deal with hair any where else Lol. I hope this review was of help to any one who is unsure about Tria. Thank you QVC and Tria you are a life saver!!!!!!
