E262354 - Toshiba 15.6" Laptop - Core i3, 4GB RAM, 640GBHD, Webcam, DVD
I have had my laptop for three months. I loved it. Worked great. Problem is, I came home from work a couple days ago to find the screen mysteriously cracked. I have no clue how this occured. This is not something covered under the standard warranty. If you are going to buy this from qvc or anywhere else, you should purchase the additional warranty. I wouldn't reccommend you buy it though, because I am finding that I am not the only one coming home to a mysterious crack in the screen. Do some research online if you are seriously considering buying this one. I am extremely heartbroken over this. I rarely buy things for myself, especially this expensive but since they offered easy pay option, I went ahead and purchased it. Now, I must continue paying for the next three months on a laptop that I can no longer use. It will cost a couple hundred bucks to replace this screen and that's money I definitely don't have while I'm still paying the easy pay installments. Do some research before you decide, and if you must get this computer you should get the additional warranty. I am reduced to writing this review from my xbox with a keyboard hooked to it. I'm crushed.
WOW --very nice laptop
Never had a Toshiba before but I am loving this one. Works great, no issues at all, which makes me wonder about the other review here...maybe they had an 'infection' of some type. Mine works flawlessly, but I ALWAYS run in Sandboxie......just to be safe, esp. with a new comp. Hoping it will last many years...if that is possible these days.. ...fastest comp I have ever owned.
Wow! Surprised by this Toshiba Laptop
I have a Toshiba Satellite computer now and have for 7 years. I wanted to buy a new computer so that I had expanded memory and a faster processor, so we ordered two of these laptops; one for myself, and one for my husband. We received both laptops the same day. Mine arrived without any paper work, the cords were not wrapped up in plastic, and it was obvious someone else had had this laptop before it was reshipped out to me. My husband's laptop came in brand new with all the instruction manuals and paper work, offers etc. So I tried mine out and found the software that came on the computer; Chrome web browser would not work properly, and when I tried to bring up web sites they just sat and would spin for a long time and never came in for me. So I packed it back up and sent it back to QVC and said things were not right. Nothing was coming in for me, and our old laptops were working just fine.
My husband kept his laptop a week, and his was acting odd too. It would shut off unexpectedly for no reason at all, and he had trouble getting some of the web sites to work on Chrome web browser too. He put on Firefox and it worked some what better but still was acting strange. Then August 27th, it shut down on him twice. He called Toshiba tech support and they had to tell him how to get off his pictures, pass words, and such things so it was wiped clean. He could not do it on his own. They set it up to restart everything. So we sent his back to QVC as well. The Toshiba tech support representative said it could be a software problem but he didn't know for sure.
I am not sure why this was going on with both laptops but we ordered two TSV Dell laptops instead from QVC. I am so glad QVC has their 30 days return policy. Without that we would have not been able to return them without restocking fees and hassles. We shipped them back and are now waiting for the other laptops to be shipped out.
Thank you, QVC for being willing to stand behind everything we purchase from you.
