Q:How was Tommie Copper started?
A: Tommie Copper was founded by Tom Kallish, who after many years of wear and tear on his joints and muscles from competitive waterskiing, was diagnosed with arthritis. Not one to let joint and muscle pain slow him down, Tom took to wearing compression sleeves. Although the various devices provided some relief, he found them to be uncomfortable, restricting, and bulky. Tom wanted something that provided relief, yet was comfortable for extended periods of time. After many months of designing and testing various fabrics, Tom invented a proprietary fabric that met his comfort requirement. At the same time, he had been studying the healing effects of copper on the body. He felt that the combination of compression and copper would increase the product's effectiveness. By combining the benefits of this revolutionary compression fabric with the patented copper-infused yarn, Tom created what's now Tommie Coppers Cu29 compression fabric, which is used in all of Tommie Coppers compression wear.

Q:What does Cu29 mean?
A: Cu is the elemental symbol for copper, and 29 is the atomic number for copper.

Q:What are the benefits of compression?
A: The most important thing to remember is that compression products are only beneficial when worn. If they're uncomfortable, bulky, or only can be worn for short periods of time, they won't be very effective. That's why all Tommie Copper products are manufactured using a proprietary compression fabric combined with copper-infused yarn that, by design, is so comfortable you may forget that you're wearing it.

Q:Who wears Tommie Copper?
A: Tommie Copper products are designed to be worn by anyone seeking temporary relief from swelling or faster recovery of muscle function after exercise. Everyone from Olympic runners to grandmothers who like to garden can benefit from the combination of copper-infused yarn and the comfortable compression provided by Tommie Copper Compression wear.

To achieve maximum benefit, compression products need to be worn often and for as long as possible. Tommie Copper Compression products are, by design, the most comfortable compression wear available so comfortable that many of our customers only take them off to shower.

Q:When should I wear my Cu29 Compression gear?
A: Tommie Copper compression gear is designed and manufactured to be the most comfortable compression wear available. Because compression products only work when you're wearing them, comfort should be a key factor when deciding on compression gear. Tommie Copper Compression gear is so comfortable and functional we recommend wearing it often and for as long as possible. Many people find sleeping in their Tommie Copper products produce enhanced results.

Q:Are there any potential side effects from the copper?
