I like this book. I've only made two of the recipes thus far but they both came out great. I'm excited to try many of the other recipes. I like the way the book is written, the pics are great and the recipes look very simple. My only criticism is what a few others have mentioned. I was under the impression that the TOTAL number of ingredients in each recipe was 6 max, which isn't the case. The 6 max ingredients mentioned during the presentation are the ingredients that most people would likely not already have in their pantries, thus you'd have to shop for them. There are more than 6 total ingredients in most of the recipes, the other ingredients being things that the author believes that most people have or should have already. Not a big deal for me, but it might put off some people.

quick six fix - no way. I started the Macaroni and Cheese about an hour ago and just finished washing the last bit of dishes...Although it smells wonderful, the title of the cookbook is way incorrect and I clean up as I go...

After watching the presentation and listening to the author, I was eagerly looking forward to adding this cookbook to my collection. After looking through it, it's going back. Even the recipes that looked good during the presentation don't seem very appealing in the book. It does have nice pictures though!

Thought this was going to be a great cookbook by the presentation. Not many recipes that haven't been found in other cookbooks. No need to have put when to wash your pot, etc. Tips section is too small. hard to read and typos in the book.
It's hard to know about a cookbook if you can't actually see it and this was that case. What was presented wasn't enough to make a decision. it's going back. I don't need another cookbook with nothing new really in it.

Not what I expected. I thought six ingredients meant simple basic recipes. Too many I wouldn't even consider making. Many are the same recipes as in my other cookbooks. I found the print too light and too small. Why would the ingredient list be smaller than the instructions? When I make a recipe I like to glance back and forth from recipe to mixing dish and not have to put my face into the book to read even with reading glasses! Just reading the book the first time was annoying, therefore, making it a "quick read". and quick return..

Really wanted to like this....BUT..... It is really a novice cook book, no, beyond novice....you'd have to be just out of high school to need this book. Nothing anyone already knows @ cooking would need this book. Simple recipes and simple cooking suggestions. Very boring, actually. Only one recipe I decided to keep...a bread pudding one. Going back....

The name does not describe the recipes. Each one does have six ingredients, but there are always more you have to go out and buy. I guess I expected 'normal' things which would be in my cupboard and refrigerator. Very Irish. Not in the least bit my American style of cooking.

Finally a chef that writes a great cookbook that doesn't require 15 ingredients or with ingredients I never heard of. I love love love this book. It has great recipes full of flavor with few ingredients. I hope Chef Stuart writes many more books just like this one. He explains techniques and the dishes are beautiful.

What wasn't stated was that they were 6 KEY ingredients plus many others.
Some as many as 12. As a person who has a lot of cook books, I didn't need another one with alot of ingredientsl
