Temp-tations Old World Loaf Pan with Ceramic Drip Tray
I haven't made meatloaf in years, mainly because I didn't seem to have the right tool for the job. When I saw this, I thought that in theory the design made a lot of sense, and in practice it works like a charm! The sides of the pan angle out so you can easily get at your meatloaf, and the tray lets drippings flow to the bottom. There is no sticking, no difficulty getting the finished product out of the pan. And it cleans up easily, perfectly. I had ordered Old World green, but instead came the floral lace pattern in green and brown, a happy accident since I love it, and it coordinates with my other Old World pieces. I highly recommend this beautiful, functional loaf pan, it would make a fabulous gift for any cook on your list!
I got this loaf pan in Old World Green and was amazed how vivid the colors were. I have used it for several things and it cooks so evenly. There was some cheese stuck to the bottom and some brown crusty residue on the pan after making a cheesy dish but clean up was a breeze. I soaked it for about 15 minutes, not immersing it but filling it with hot soapy water. All the cheese and residue came right off. I will be ordering more pieces for sure!
HAS QUALITY CONTROL BEEN ABOLISHED?
I normally purchase most of my Temptations in the Old World Spice. I also have two different sets in the Old World Green. Why does the green always have brownish brush strokes? I can never get anything green without those darn brush strokes and dings, small bubbles and missed paint spots. I received the Old World Soup Tureen in green and there was those brush strokes. When I order anything in Confetti for my Mom, the paint job is always perfect because I really believe that Confetti is always perfect because Tara collects that color. And I have to order Spice when the product is making a debut because its usually perfect. If I wait to order Spice months down the road, the paint job is going to be hit or miss. This loaf pan is Old World green and the background looks like a dark tan because of those strokes!!! Tara, you need to address The Old Word green issues. Thank goodness I purchased this loaf pan as a lunch time special for $11.00. I am not sending it back because shipping and handling will cost just as much and I will not be ordering green anymore. I planted different cactus in my loaf pan.
paint job is horrendous
The colors ran so my cranberry looks like dirty purple. Must be seconds as quality control is poor.
I rcvd blue and like the color combo which matches my kitchen. Using for deco so is right size t use center of table. Not sure wld ever cook in it?
Awesome Loaf Pan, but paint job OMG ggrrrrrrr
I actually just started buying temptations last month. I decided to collect FL Red, Brown and other pieces I like just because. So when I saw this the other day for a lunch time special, the price was so low, I could not pass it up. I purchased 3, one of which is the blue OW. The loaf pan and metal holder is fine, but the paint job is the worst. There is literally a light layer of the blue smeared all around the pan, and inside of it like it was done with a sponge. It completely covers the cream color. The insert was perfectly painted however.
This should definitely have been an As Is item. So far I've purchased 2 sets of 16pc dishes, an 18 pc bakeware set, lots of loaf and pie pans, ramekins, mixing bowls, poinsettia oval bakeware set and a few other items. About 1/3 of all the items have issues. I must be nuts, lol. I am getting all my new Temptation items and have not used anything yet!
This loaf pan is not worth the hassle to return for an exchange. But I did have to return for an exchange, directly to the Temptations company, 5 FL Red items so far.
"Pretty loaf pan!"
That's the compliment I continue to get on this item. No more carrying quick breads to brunch in ugly metal loaf pans for me!! I've also used this for making 1/2 breakfast cassarole. Cleans up like a dream & is so much prettier than any other dish I've used in the past. Got this in OW green, which coordinates nicely with my OW cream, OW fallfetti & FL cranberry pieces too. Hope I can pick up another loaf pan in another color soon-- maybe in FL
This was my first and last Temptations purchase. I bought this specifically for meatloaf based on being able to cook with the grease draining from the meat. This did not happen. The problem is that the drip tray does not sit high enough above the bottom of the loaf pan. While the meatloaf was cooking there was liquid and grease cooking all around it, I had to spoon it out after taking it from the oven. The bottom of the meatloaf was very greasy. The loaf pan did clean up nicely, however the drip tray was another story. Even after soaking, the holes in the tray were filled with drippings; I had to use a q-tip to poke through each hole to get it cleaned. Would like to return, but the return shipping cost makes it not worthwhile. QVC should offer free returns like other companies.
Reliable quality and beauty
These pans are as beautiful to look at and handle as they are functional. I appreciate the generous size of this and the flexibility of using it with or without the insert. For baking, when greased and floured, the cake or bread comes out perfectly formed with nothing stuck in the pan. I only regret not picking up the baking set and bundt-style pan when they were still available in Old World Blue (Kara, please bring these back or similar sets!). At this price, it would make a nice gift with a recipe card and gift card for newlyweds or a housewarming.
The Best Loaf Pan
I ordered this pan to cook meatloaf in and I love it! It holds anywhere from 1-1.5 lbs of hamburger depending upon what ingredients you add to your meatloaf. It cooks evenly and the insert helps keep the meatloaf out of all the grease. Very easy clean up! I'll never use another pan for my meatloaf again!
I love this loaf dish. The artwork is stunning and the piece has so many uses.
Loving my new baker!
The title says it all, I love all my Temptations pieces! And its so nice to get them on clearance prices! The bakeware holds up well, I never soak them in water and only put them in a cold oven or a warm oven and raise the temp. I've not had any problems!!
