This is my first piece of Temp-tations, followed very closely by 2 serving trays and a larger bowl. My only regret is not buying it sooner. I bought the poinsettia pattern and used it for our Christmas table with a double batch of green been casserole in it. Worked perfectly! And a perk was that it kept it hot for much longer than I expected it to.

I got mine in the Poinsettia, and am doing the happy dance! There is no end of things I can do with this bowl, including Christmas punch for 2-4 people. Temptations doesn't just keep hot things hot, it keeps cold things cold. I would recommend, for optimal temperature control, to preheat your Temptations with hot water if you are going to use it only for serving hot food, and haven't cooked the food in it, and to place it in the frig or freezer prior to using it for serving cold foods. Your hot foods will stay hot much longer, and ditto with the cold. For the lady who had a problem with the odors coming out in the frig, if you place plastic wrap on the top prior to putting the lid on to hold it in place, you should have no further problems, although it would be nice not to have to take this extra step.

This is really nice big bowl. I used it today to make macaroni salad for party. This size is great to make larger quantities of food. I've used the pretty whisk several times. The only drawback to this set is the storage lid. It doesn't fit tight and lets food oders out into the refrigerator. Other than that, I really like the bowl set.

I debated between purchasing this & the 6 Qt. bowl but decided to opt for this thinking it would be large enough & I'd get the whisk & recipes. Well, the whisk was small, the cards were bent in half (as if they were just shoved in the box) & the 4-1/2 qt. bowl looked to be the same size as my 3qt trifle bowl. I filled it w/exactly 4-1/2 qts of water (just to check) & it filled exactly to the brim so I consider this more of a 4 qt bowl w/ a 1/2 inch of wiggle room. The bowl itself is very nice & as always w/Old World the paint job isn't perfect, not even close. However, I like all my Temptations products & will keep. I just wished I got the bigger bowl as what I can mix/make in this bowl, I can mix w/any of my 3 qt bowls or my 4 qt baker & saved the extra $. If I was willing to opt for a different pattern, I could've bought this directly from Temptations in a 4 qt size for much less $.

I ordered this bowl in Red FL it is perfect!
I will say it's heavy to lift (no handles) today I used to mix large batch of Italian ricotta cookies and anise ones. I needed spouse to lift bowl so I could transfer doughs!
I'm going to order one for my sister (once the go on ez pay) - she makes big batches of everything!
Very pleased and the quality is what Temptations used to be!

I have several pieces of Temptations now. I have been buying the eggplant lace design. I am very happy with the size of this bowl and I like the cover and matching wisk. The recipe cards were wadded up in the box, but it doesn't matter. I have dark purple dinnerware and purple glasses that blend so nice with these pieces. I have used the baking and casserole dishes I have purchased by Temptations and have been very pleased with everything...cooking and clean-up. My husband bought me the Le Crueset TSV in the Casis color ( a dark purple) for Christmas too, and I think all these pieces and brands will blend nicely together. Tara, If you read this, please keep making this color...would love some cute 16oz coffee mugs with a straight top edge ( the brim not rolled outward or flared).Possibly with a footed base???

I love Temptations. Essy to clean even if you manage to burn food on it. Keeps food hot for a good while like even serving 12 people mashed potatoes for turkey day.
