K3425 - Technique Set of 2 17" x 12-1/2" Silicone Baking Boards
I have had these for a while. I have not experienced any of the negative things that others said. I use them for cookies and appetizers and they cook up beautiful. I also have had no problem with cookies getting crispy. I do not know why another person said she had grease dripping off of hers. I do not treat these pans at all. No pam, no grease, no nothing which is what they stated. When you take them out of the oven yes you must use both hands. Not a big deal. I love, love, love, these and encourage anyone that wants them to get them. They clean beautifully. I do not have staining as others stated. When these first came out I bought the purple and the color still looks great.
not too bad
I bought these two years ago and just now purchased more for myself and my sisters. I also found that they discolor, however, that did not cause anything to stick to them. I use them to make cookies, bake rolls and all sorts of things. What I love them the best for is cookies and candy. When I put homemade candy on them, after the chocolate dries, I can just tap the bottom and all of the candy comes off very easily. It is nice to use them over and over and save on wax paper, parchment paper or reynolds wrap. They do seem to bubble when in the over, however, after cooling it goes back to normal. It has never caused a problem for me. I have used them so much, they are not pretty anymore but all of my friends and family know it is our go to baking board when we need something good.
Don't know what happened???Baked great!
I bought these and they baked just like they showed. I didn't have any problems. Nothing burned. Nothing stuck. Great results. Used them often. I stored them in my cabinet on their edge (carefully since they were silicone). I pulled one out one day and found this very large half moon shaped tear (?) / rip (?) / separation (?) / not sure how to call it, but it was across the top third of the board, which made it totally useless. Don't know why but I can't keep buying them so I will stay with the newer non stick pans. They are terrific too!
I got these last year and I really love them, they bake so well! The silicone smell was only there the first time, don't let these negative comments affect your purchase!
I have to say , most of the reviews are spot on. I bought these about a year ago and they do sag you will need two hands when removing from oven. They stain and do get greasy even after they seem perfectly clean. I ruined one forgetting what I was using and cut up the pizza with a pizza cutter, duh, I think the other one got a cut in it when my son put it in the sink and a knife was in there. After having to soak and scrub regular cookie sheets after my kids finish baking anything with cheese in it I found myself wishing I had the darn things again. I am sure I could take other routes such as liners etc... but when I saw them in the clearance thought I would give them another chance. Call me nuts but this time will tell the kids to be more careful and keep one just for my cookies as they do work great with them.
I ordered 2 sets, one for a friend. After only two uses they became badly stained and very little of the discoloration was removable. The material bubbles up when heated to 350 degrees and does not lie flat when baking. I would not recommend this item to anyone and wish I had returned it but postage was too much to do so.
I only use these my red boards to bake cookies. The cookies come out evenly baked and with a perfecty browned bottom. I no longer have burned cookies! Haven't experienced the sagging or staining that other reviewers have mentioned.
These boards make baking so easy with less clean up. They cool so fast that you use less boards when making large amounts of cookies, etc as the cookies are cool and removable very quickly so that you can reload and cook the next batch. Have about 8 and would have more if storage allowed me.
I bought these for my christmas baking, and was going to use them for my cookies...but now I find myself using them all the time, for just about everything!!!!
Their Just Ok....
My sister purchased these baking sheets for me for christmas in brown, their just ok, i have had no problem with them staining like the other reviews say, but that could just be the color of the pan i have. they sag terrably when you take them out of the oven, you need two hands, or you will have a mess. after you you wash and dry and they sit in your pantry for a while, it's like the oil and grease seeps out of them and their slimy... grose..... and when i baked cookies in them they didn't brown evenly or flaten out like with a regular cookie sheet.. They are easy to use when it comes to the removal of food, but i think my old cookie sheet does a better job without the slimy resadue....
Great Idea, Hard to use
Non stick - Wonderful --- but when you put anything heavier than a cookie on it the silicone stretches so far. we tried making little individual cheese cakes and when you lift them out of the oven they sagged worse than a hammock. I think that the silicone by the roll covering your metal cookie sheet would be easier to use and to store.
I ordered these for my husband (the cook) for Christmas, and we both love them! Yes, as other reviews have mentioned they do stain, but really, who cares? We have cooked all sorts of things on them, and everything turns out well. I was a little worried some things wouldn't get crispy enough on them, but fries, chicken strips, ect. turn out just fine for me (which I will admit, I am very picky). We have had ours for almost 2 years now and still use them all the time, can't beat the price!
