Technique 1 qt Saucepan with Spouts and Glass Colander Lid
Great small saucepan
I just received my 1 qt. saucepan last week, I wanted a small non-stick pot to cook my morning oatmeal and hot cereal. This pot it perfect! Even though the weight of the thickness of the pot is not the same as all the Technique skillets, this pot and lid is great. I use it every morning and clean up is a breeze.
Easy to clean, easy to use and a great gift for family and friends
Just the right size for me
I live alone, and this saucepan is the perfect size for me. It is so perfect, that I have two! It is very easy to clean - I just pop it into the dishwasher. It's easy enough to clean by hand, but with the dishwasher, I know that it comes out completely clean, and safe to use again.
The interior coating of my original 6-year-old Cook's Essentials pan developed a crack, and the replacement pan I received had a similar problem and lasted only a few months. Therefore, I needed a new nonstick 1 qt. pan for making small quantities of various sauces. I already owned and have absolutely LOVED several of the Teqnique NON-dishwasher-safe pans and skillets, which are of heavy weight and cook food to perfection. Although the handle on this new dishwasher-safe 1 qt. saucepan is of the same quality as those on my skillets, the walls of this pot are only half as thick as the others. Sauces heat up too quickly, even over the lowest setting on my gas stove, and in my opinion the pan is not worth the price. I will probably keep and use it until something better comes along. I do wish, however, that Technique would introduce a COMPLETE set of SMALL saucepans--1 qt.; 1 1/2 qt.; 2 qt.; 3 qt.; plus a 3 or 4 qt. covered everyday pan--all in the original heavy-weight hard anodized aluminum. I never put my pans in the dishwasher, because they always wipe clean in seconds--for me the dishwasher-safe feature is unnecessary. Heavier-weight construction, however, is essential to performance.
