Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific WiFi Extender I received the extender yesterday, was a little concerned if I was going to be able to hook it up myself, but let me tell you it was the easiest and quickest hook up I've ever had to do. The extender does all the work for you, I used the setup where you just had to push the WPS button on my modem and the RE button on the extender. It set it up and then let me know the best location for it to be in. I am getting great reception now in areas where the signal was lost or I kept losing it. Would recommend this product to anyone who needs a boost in their wifi signal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tiny range extender! Works very well considering its size! I found that setting up this device couldn't have been easier. The instructions were very easy to follow. The instructions state two methods to link this range extender to an existing Wi-Fi router (I had no interoperability issues). The first way requires a little more work using a web browser. You have to manually enter the password and information of your existing Wi-Fi router to link them up. The second method is a lot easier and the method I used. I simply pressed the "WPS" button on my existing Wi-Fi router (most modern ones have this), and then pressed the "RE" button on the Wi-Fi range extended, and voila - all connected/linked! I was amazed to see the improvement once I connected this range extender. One of my rooms had always been problematic (due to the design of the walls) and this immediately eliminated it. I am now also able to get Wi-Fi signal a lot further outdoors! Disclaimer: Submitted as part of a free sample program

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Performer My house has a tiny Wi-Fi deadzone on the upper floor in the opposite corner of the house from where my wireless router resides. I have a dual-band, wireless AC router and while the 5G has a slightly better signal in this area, it is still a bit unreliable. After installing the TPLINK RE210 range extender, the deadzone is gone for both 2.4G and 5G devices. Setup Though the RE210 supports WPS setup, I chose to manually configure it so I have complete control over what and how it's configured. Setup was fairly simple and is about as easy as configuring a wireless router. Once setup, I moved the RE210 to roughly the halfway point between my router and the dead zone. Immediately devices that were having difficulties in the corner of my upper floor were now showing maximum signal strength. Design The RE210 is a small device. There are 4 LEDs on the device to communicate it's WPS status, 2.4G signal strength, 5G signal strength, and power status. It has an Ethernet port so you can plug into it directly, but I have not used this feature. I particularly like the external antennas as I believe they allow for stronger signals. The unobtrusive design of the RE210 allows it to be plugged in just about anywhere with the added bonus of not restricting access to the second outlet. Two features that I appreciated were a power switch (so the unit can be switched off but left plugged in) and a button to turn off the LED lights on the unit (should they cause distractions). This being a wireless AC device, I am easily maxing out my Internet Provider's maximum speeds while surfing the Internet and streaming video and audio. My local network is gigabit and when copying large files wirelessly throughout my LAN while connected to the RE210, speeds are more than sufficient. Summary I would highly recommend this device to anyone who needs to get rid of deadzones. I've been using TP-LINK devices for years and this device continues the tradition of excellent performance at a great price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from When You Need A Simple Extender This is a review of a free product from the TP-LINK Review Program. I have a large house, and I like to extend the strength of my signal to all corners so that no one is left with a weak one, no matter where they are. This TP-LINK WiFi Range extender is perhaps one of the simplest and most cost-effective ways to do. All you need to do is follow the simple quick start guide to configure it near your router, and then you can move it wherever you want within your network's signal to extend it. An orange light indicates a too-close position, and green lights verify that it is connected. It will connect to both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. Although, as is the case with all extenders, there is a split second lost when it connects to your router, it's not noticeable in practice. The only time I have lost connections is when I'm moving around the house, and my device moves between the main signal and the extender's. This dropped connection is brief, however. It has one gigabit port and is sized perfectly to fit into a lower receptacle of an outlet and still leave the upper one free. Obviously, it would be a great world if we didn't need to extend our home network's signal; however, the reality of life, particularly in a multi-story home, is that an extender provides the kind of digital connection we want. The RE210 is a great choice for an easy to set up/no frills extender that fits right into a wall outlet.
