TP-Link Smart Wi-Fi Light Switch is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 58.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks amazing and works great. LED indicator too bright. It works great and looks great. The only problem is that the white LED is too bright and illuminated most of my room at night, making it unbearable and hard to sleep. I had to tape a piece of cardboard over it, ruining the aesthetic look. Please add an option to turn it off in the next firmware update. I am considering returning it because of this. Please fix this problem and it would be a much better purchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Can't Control From Anywhere Our Smart Switch is in our vacation home. When we are away and try to control the device, we get a message that our "Device is Unreachable". We have no issues with our other smart devices like our Nest camera and Eco plugs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My Growing Smart Home I have four flood lights in my backyard. When switched on they illuminate my whole yard. The only problem is that the switch for them is downstairs next to a sliding glass door and covered by curtains. Many times I wished that when I was upstairs I could turn on the lights to see what was going on in the yard, without having to go downstairs. I know it's a first world problem, but technology came to my rescue! The TP-Link Smart Wi-fi light switch was the answer to my problems. I already have six TP-Link Wi-fi Plug Minis controlling various devices around my home and the Alexa integration is awesome. The light switch made an awesome addition to my burgeoning smart home. The KASA app does walk you through the installation and I watched a few YouTube videos, however, I had to move a couple of other switches, so I hired an electrician. He was done in just over 10 minutes and my switch was added to my network in just a few minutes after that. I already had a KASA account, so you will need to create one if you don't have one. You then select that you want to add a Smart Switch. The Wi-fi light will blink amber and green. You then connect the device to your home network, name your new switch and you're done! I then launched the Alexa app and added the switch to my devices and now I was able not only able to control the switch via the KASA app, but also from telling Alexa to turn on my flood lights. The KASA app allows you to set up a schedule for your devices. I find the app very intuitive. You can also set up an Away schedule. When in Away Mode, during the period of time, your device will be randomly turned on or off. This will help deter those ne'er-do-wells who might be scoping your home. You can control your lights and switches from anywhere you have access to the internet. It comes with 2 year warranty and 24/7 tech support. The switch also works with Google assistant. The only suggestion I would have would be to offer these in different colors.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works really well, but be aware of the LED indicator... The switch is great, it's far more reliable than my WeMos, the only CON and I put it in capitals is the LED indicator light, if you install this in your bedroom you don't really need to turn on the lights, the indicator is so powerful and bleeds that much light that you can see everything at night, no kidding. I hope that next time TP-Link make it more subtle or give the option to turn it off. I had to put back my unreliable WeMo light switch because the LED light is unbearable if you need a dark room to fall sleep.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprised at range from our WiFi router We have a house out in the country with no ambient lighting and our garage is about 75 feet from our router which is in the middle of our home. The setup went smoothly and now we don't have to go outside to the garage to turn on the lights for our parking area. We set them up to operate from our Android phones and from Alexa. Very happy with this easier way to turn the lights on for people arriving or leaving at night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice looking, easy to install. People in my home tend to leave things on. I can be at my desk at work and turn off lights. Also, when my teen-age son is staying up later than he should, I can turn off his light (and the TV with the TP-link outlet) without raising my head from the pillow: "Alexa, turn off my son's light." He gets the point when he's suddenly plunged into darkness. I do the same with the tp-link plug: "Alexa, turn off my son's TV. " These are so easy to install. Yes, the back of the switch is more bulky than non-smart switches, but you have to expect that. They need some space for the "smart".Just start pushing your existing wires in as far as you can before even trying to start putting the switch into its place. Everything you need is in the box: wire nuts, switch plate, and it's made so you don't have to try bending a 14 gage around a screw. I put in 6 of these myself last weekend. Just ONE thing. The bathroom fans seem to start slower, and work their way up to normal speed. I don't use them that often, so it won't bother me too much. But, those fans are also 20 years old, and may not be as energy efficient as they should be. I really wish TP -Link would make 3 way switches so I could have a cohesive look throughout my house. I have many 2 and 3 gang boxes, so I cannot use the TP-Link switches in those gangs that will also have to carry a 3 way compatible switch. I think mixing and matching in an electrical box, or even in a room won't look good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenience of Technology The HS200 Smart Wi-Fi Light Switch puts your light switch at the palm of your hand. This offers many simple conveniences that make it worth acquiring. My favorite use is when I'm in bed about to go to sleep, I don't need to get up and walk to the switch. It's very relaxing and comforting to be able to turn the lights off for the night all from the comfort of my bed. It's also a very attractive light switch Not only does it offer a great deal of convenience but it improved the overall look of my room. Submitted as part of a free sample program. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly Easy to Setup! Compared to the smart plugs and smart light bulbs, I initially felt that installing this switch would be a little intimidating or that I would need a qualified electrician. However, the Kasa App guided me through the entire process, which was surprisingly easy. There are also great videos on Youtube, in case you want a more visual guide or to get a little comfortable with the process before you begin. TP-Link also include wire connectors so you do not need anything extra to install this light switch. Speaking of which, this is not quite a switch, it is more of a button that looks like a switch. It takes some getting used to, when using it in the manual mode. In terms of design, this switch is very sleek and looks modern. This switch is perfect for controlling an array of lights controlled by a single switch, or even devices that do not have a "smart" alternative yet, like a ceiling fan. Alexa integration works great, and the scheduling feature within the KASA App is fantastic. You have so much flexibility in scheduling/automatic/controlling the light switch. Two things that I would like to see in the next model is the ability to dim lights, and also the ability to turn off the LED indicator. Overall, this is a very versatile switch and though it may seem intimidating, both the installation and configuration are very easy. Submitted as part of a free sample program.
