TP-Link Archer T4U Wireless Dual-Band USB Adapter is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great product, but doesnt connect to networks without pw The network card of my MacBook Pro broke and I got this product as a replacement. It worked great. But I quickly found that I can't connect to networks that aren't password protected due to the WPS - and it's seemingly impossible to disable!! There is at least no information online or in the product manual that came with it. Since I travel a lot for work, I need to be able to connect to hotel, airport and coffee shop networks that mostly aren't password protected but instead have a sign in page. This inability severely handicaps the utility of this otherwise great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good USB Adapter This is a review of a free product received by TP-LINK as part of the review program. The Archer T4U is a dual-band wireless adapter. If you want to cut the cord for your desktop or laptop then this will help because you can just plug this in and connect to the internet just like your other wireless devices do. It can do 2.5 GHz or 5 GHz bands and comes with an installation disc. It is easy to set up and use basically a plug and play device. It works with USB 3.0 as well. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent wireless USB adapter I plugged this little device into my HP rack mounted server that only has a hardwire connection and it works great. The speedtest shows amazingly fast speeds due to the AC1200 capability. Wasn't much setup to do and started working instantly. This device was plug and play for me and took little effort to get it working. Disclaimer: Submitted as part of a free sample program

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great but bulky Been using this on both a Samsung PC and a Macbook Pro. It works great and speeds are exceptional but it is a bulky and can issues if you want to be more mobile. It keeps connection to my AC Router with no issues, signal is strong, even with multiple floors and signal remains strong outside my residence. Overall, great product with no real complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy upgrade to 802.11AC. Simple setup. Reliable and stable. The T4U is a Wi-Fi dual-band 802.11ac USB 3.0 adapter. Maximum speeds are 300 Mbps @2.4GHz and 867 Mbps @5GHz. That is why the T4U is designated as AC1200 (300+867=1,167). Speed tests are best with the T4U on a USB 3.0 port and with a reasonably fast computer. This is a review of a free evaluation sample received from TP-LINK. The T4U is a very good choice to upgrade a desktop PC (that has no Wi-Fi) or for a laptop not yet supporting Wi-Fi 802.11ac. My desktop PC was connected to a nearby router with an Ethernet cable. When it needed to be moved to the other end of the house, a Wi-Fi connection using the T4U did the job and proved to be the simplest and best solution. All my tablets and laptops have been upgraded to 802.11ac because it's so superior to 802.11n. While every 2.4GHz channel in my urban location is shared by multiple neighbors, almost all the 5.0GHz channels are empty. With a T4U you won't need to discard/replace an existing desktop or laptop just to get the 802.11ac capability. The 1-page single-sided Quick Installation Guide has simple 3-step instructions and diagrams. Setup instructions are elementary and worked. The T4U is very compatible. It connects with 802.11a,b,g,n,ac devices, works on both USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports, includes drivers for Windows (10, 8.1, 8, 7, even XP), Mac OS X (10.9, 10.8, 10.7), and Linux computers. A Resource CD in the box contains an Autorun install program, Driver Installation Program, Driver Files, Utility Installation Program, and a 42 page User Guide. If you don't have a CD drive all this stuff is also available for downloading from TP-LINK's Internet website. The included USB 3.0 extension cable (40 inches long) serves two functions. You can position the T4U for the best Wi-Fi reception. Wi-Fi dongles plugged directly into a PC cabinet or into a laptop usually are not in an optimum place for the Wi-Fi antennas. With a long extension cable, the T4U can be moved about to locate the best location.
