TP-Link Archer C8 Wireless Dual-Band Gigabit Router is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great 802.11AC Router at a Great Price I have had my Archer C8 for over a year now and am very happy with it. I have not had any problems with the signal or connections. Set up was very simple. I only wish the lights on the router flickered to show activity. I like to see activity lights flicker, especially when I'm emailing or uploading a file online, that way I know it is working properly. Other than that, I am very happy with my router and I bought it at a very good price as well.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pretty basic for advanced router Poor reception on both 2.4 and 5GHz bands - my 6 years old Linksys w/o external antennas is better in comparison. No QoS - only bandwidth shaping. Searching in support mention using the "blue" version of firmware, but it seems to apply only to C7/C9. It seems TP-Link is gave up with this model - no firmware updates at all (the last published one is the initial version dating back to 2015) Overall - pretty basic router with good hardware specs - so almost useless :(

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Router I attached a 1TB portable drive to the usb 3.0 port. Now the family has shared storage for music, pics, videos and backup documents. Storage is password protected which is great. My only complaint is that, unlike Archer C7 v1, you cannot create multiple user account and assign read/write per user. So I live in fear of one of my kids unintentionally erasing all our files. Please make all your customers happy by updating firmware so that we can assign read/write access per user.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful I have tried on 2 different days to connect this unit. All 3 lights on unit are on, on my laptop network status says I'm connected, but try to use the web and it says I'm not connected. Then Tried my I pad to configure with web browser and got some long message about to link not available and try later!! THis is not worth the aggravation!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Gone Like The Wind" In Speed! We needed to replace our other router because it kept dropping the signal all the time so we took a chance and ordered this one. First: With this router, you can surf just as fast on an Android Phone as you can online with high-speed internet, in Wi-Fi mode! That is saying something because with our old router, I wouldn't try Wi-fi because it was so slow. Second: It has 3 "antenna's" dedicated for specific usages. Third: It's one of the highest gigabites per second on the market, thus speed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not User Friendly I purchased this router as we needed a replacement for our home. We have several computers a tablet, etc. My daughter spend several days trying load this on our devices and it would just disappear by the next morning and we would start over. I finally returned it and went to a local store and bought a different router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent router I'm no expert, but I researched new routers for some time before settling on this one. I don't have any devices that use wireless-ac yet, but was looking for the most up-to-date router that will accommodate them when I do. Also wanted both 2.4 and 5 gHz bands, as my cell phone usesd 2.4 but my new Roku 3, Kindle and Fire Stick all use either band. The 5gHz band does not have the bandwidth competition that the 2.4 does -- I'm in a 48-unit apartment building. Although I had settled on wanting this router, I thought it would be some time before I could afford it. But then I found it on QVC with 3 easy-pays. Routers depend so much on what equip you have and surroundings, this would not be something I would gift to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Take advantage of High Speed Internet This router is a great way to see an immediate boost to the high speed Internet you already have. It's able to provide more range (get Internet in the farthest rooms) and more of your Internet speeds (take advantage of the speeds you pay for). This router has 2 bands, 2.4 and 5ghz. They both deliver good speed, but your newer devices can take advantage of the extra range that the 5ghz band can provide. Having both bands can help your newer devices download faster and farther while your older devices aren't left behind. The router itself is attractive with a shiny white finish. It doesn't stick out in most décor, so you can place it where it can get the best signal, not hidden away in a closet. It comes with 3 antennas to provide the best range and reception. I was provided with a test unit to try out and I was blown away by the performance. Using the cable company's built-in wifi I was getting about half the speed that I was promised over wifi, but with this TP-Link router I was regularly getting 80% or more of my paid speed when using my wifi devices.
