Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Experience - Does Not Meet Specs Very disappointed in this. Just bought a new DOCIS 3.1 cable modem and thought this would be a great wifi router upgrade from my 6 year old Apple express and allow me to maximize the 200 mbps download and 10 mbps upload measured at my modem. The best I could get out of this was about 35-40 mbps download and 2 mbps. This was placing my phone and computer within first about 30 feet and then 12 inches of the router antennas. My old Apple express was performing at about 60 to 80 mbps download and 10 mbps upload at 30 feet. I searched the TP-Link website for topics related to troubleshooting speed issues and found nothing specific that might help. Seems to me to be the most important feature of the product, yet it just provides generic guidance on things that affect speed. In my opinion this device should have specific troubleshooting tools like a speed test integrated to help figure out issues. After a few days of doing everything I could, I am sending this back. What a waste of my time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Would Buy This Again This Is The Best Router I've Ever had, I have seen the Reviews from others Saying a lot of cons that are not factual in my case. If people New The inside/outside of tech and how to setup routers for optimal performance they most likely wouldn't be experiencing slow this and that. The only bottleneck would be lack of knowledge on setting this up for the best performance and the Internet Speeds/wires/modem that may be limiting your Internet in any way.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nothing but issues I have both a MAC and PC. As well as iphones and I have had nothing but problems since day one and they continue. It does not always connect and drop constantly. Does not work as far as it claims. Have trouble connecting at different places in the house.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I do not recommend this produc Since we purchased this it over 6 months ago we've had nothing but issues, even as I try to type this review it keeps kicking me offline. Does not work well with iphones, we have both a mac and PC and they have issues as well but not as much as the iphones. But when using another router we have no problems so clearly it's the unit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can't secure the antennas. Throughput has dropped The silver plastic across the top completely interferes when installing the antennas. You can't apply any more torque than what the swivel portion of the antenna will transmit unless you use pliers on your brand new router. The router has worked great for a year. Today my download speed decreased to 2Mbps on my wired connection. Yes, 2. I've swapped cables to no avail. I've upgraded to the latest firmware and reset to factory defaults. When connected directly to my modem I get my rated speed. It is definitely the router causing the issue.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not meeting my expectations...Works well, but dissapointed 1. Hooked it up, and appears to work fine and fast. Connected to router through web and set up all my Network names and passwords. Connected everyone's phones, computers, video games, tablets, etc. 2. Went to connect my Wireless Samsung printer via WPS. Didn't work. Tried it a few more times, then Googled and found out that it's a known issue. I may be able to con it into working by connecting it to the Guest Network. 3. I'm sick of bending over the chair where we hide the modem and router, so I press the WPS button on my printer and tell my kid to press the WPS button. 4. She presses it, and holds it. Holding the WPS button does a factory reset on the router. 5. Irritated. Have to go through setup again. 6. Get everything setup again, and tell wife this router has an FU Protocol, and won't work with the printer. 7. Start to play with the web interface, and realize that I can no longer block a kid's playstation or phone from the network when they don't mow the lawn or do the dishes. I have to set up parental controls and enter the MAC address. Very cumbersome. I could just select a device and block it on the map with my older Netgear. I've always had netgear routers and loved them for the 24 months that they work. I thought I'd upgrade to what I thought was a higher end, faster router, that might last longer. I'm not really thrilled with the experience so far, and I don't know if it's worth twice as much as I normally spend for a decent router.
