TP-Link AC1750 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem Router is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all-in-one! It's great to see newer modem/Wi-Fi router combo devices with increased Wi-Fi AC speeds. This is a worthy upgrade over the previous CR500, since it now has 6 internal antennas (versus 4) and has increased 2.4GHz and 5GHz speeds. In my tests. I found the coverage and sustained upload and download speeds increased significantly compared to the previous gen. This was more apparent at further distances. I also stress tested this modem/Wi-Fi router combo, by attached many Wi-Fi devices, and also connecting 4 devices to the Gigabit Ethernet ports. I noticed no dropped connection and did not have to restart the device during my tests. With my ISP supplied modem/Wi-Fi router combo, I found it could not handle as many devices, and often got very hot. This is truly an all in one solution that works very well. This is also a lot better than the standard modem/Wi-Fi router combo you get from your ISP. Since it is a combo device, it also simplifies things a lot. For instance, if your internet isn't working well, do you restart your modem or do you restart your Wi-Fi router or do you restart both? With this device, it takes the guessing game away. Unfortunately, I was unable to self-activate this modem due to the portal saying this modem was not on the approved list (even though it is approved). However, setup was still a breeze, and after a quick phone call to my ISP, I was up and running in no time. I am also very pleased with its performance, and have great Wi-Fi coverage. Unlike my previous rented cable modems, I have had zero issues so far. Now that ISPs allow it, I highly recommend you swap out your rented modem. Not only are you getting a newer and better performing device, you are also saving on the rental fees! It will pay for itself in no time. Submitted as part of a free sample program.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All in one solution for me! Have both a cable modem and a router currently, after removing them both and setting up this new TP-Link Archer CR700. This was a pleasant surprise as now I have no more of the rebooting of both devices to make them sync if power fails or just plain locking up. Great uninterrupted services are the future. More devices more points of failure, which is no good for me. We are a normal family with multiple devices and tons of streaming, this has not disappointed in any way. Keeping the setup very simple and straight forward TP-Link has delivered a knock out product with this one. The best part is, well it just works and I really don't know its even on. Just plain works!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT RECOMMENDED I've had this product for a year now, at first it was working great but lately it's been dropping connection. I contacted my IP provider and they said they can't troubleshoot my modem because it's not a Comcast modem. I used to reboot the modem to solve the problem and it will be ok for a few days. Now I have to reset and redo my configuration. It's frustrating! I keep checking for a firmware update but no update yet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some frustrating glitches and problems, otherwise okay I have been using this router/modem for 6 months so far. We use the wi-fi with anywhere from 2 devices to 8 devices connected at any given time. It does seem to handle the demand for the most part though there are times it seems slow even with only a few devices using it. It seemed great at first but I have since discovered some very frustrating things about it. The web-based management program has a lot of glitches. For one it will not open in Chrome. So I use Microsoft Edge to open it and even then it will sometimes freeze on me and has even locked me out completely where I then needed to reset the whole router to default back to the original password. I think the most frustrating thing with the web-based program is that I cannot use the parental controls. As soon as I set one time limitation the whole parental control function doesn't work and that device gets completely locked out from wi-fi all together and I cannot change anything without resetting the whole router again. So I am not able to use parental controls which was part of the reason I bought this to begin with. I would say overall I had higher hopes of this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from top of the line Fast speeds does not drop connections I have 3 roku tvs, 2 laptops, 1 desktop, cellphones, kids ipads connected to it no problem. I have had a lot of routers this one blows them all away even the $300.00 + routers took a hammer to the old ones. Needs to have a firewall update so you can customize it better you want a modem router combo the less wires the faster the speeds.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Intermittent operation, weird quirks I purchased this router three months ago and initially it worked great. Starting a month ago I started experiencing intermittent drops. I am a retired telecom professional technician, and have a great deal of experience with internet service. I initially looked for such issues as ATM layer problems and other issues. But nothing could be seen. Twice this week, the router has completely failed on the 2.4ghz network (as it is today), and my directly wired PC can only ping the Comcast IP address but can't reach the gateway. However, I am currently writing this review by using my cell phone in Wi-Fi mode only (LTE disabled) logged on to the 5ghz network. Which is running fine. TP Link support appears to be only providing basic answers, not addressing the problem. Very frustrating. I will try to return router to store. I had high hopes for this model, given the good reviews and its initial flawless performance. But as other users have discovered, it's not reliable.
