Susan Graver Ponte Knit Bolero with 3/4 Ruched Sleeves
I love this item, I am plus size and it's not too short. I want to order more, live in Arizona and it doesn't get real cold, but great to wear over my sleeveless dresses.
Just one request from Susan Graver, White please!! Seems like most people forget about white. Such a great color with the bright colors. Hope Susan reads these posts.
I JUST LOVE THE PONTE KNIT MATERIAL AND THE RUCHED SLEEVES. I HAVE A LARGE BUST AND SOMETIMES WISH IT HAD A HOOK AND EYE CLOSURE, EVEN SO I WOULD STILL ORDER ANOTHER ONE.
Ordered this in red, xs. Color nice, but doubling of material around edge caused it to stick out and not lay nicely on the body, making for an unflattering fit on me. Had to return.
So cute on. Makes just the right coverup over sleeveless tops.
Ordered three colors and wear and like them all!
I ordered this bolero in three sizes (black, bone and red) and find them a GREAT staple for my wardrobe. They're great in the summer for the over-air-conditioned spaces and make anything (jeans or skirts) look great. I'm sure they'll be excellent in other seasons, as well.
They really make an outfit look nice, are easy to wear, carry and care for. I get a lot of use out of them.
I found the sizing a little confusing. I have both x-small that fits fine and then small that fits fine. This required some exchanges which I could have done w/out. But, I looked in lots of stores for them and these were clearly the best. I hate going to stores, so this is the way to go!!
Perfect for my needs.
I really like this item. I first bought it in Magenta and then came back for the Wheat. It is the perfect weight for living in Arizona. The fit is really good, I did size down from an XL to a L based on the measurements. Most shrugs are way too short to look flattering on me and so many cardigans are too long. This is exactly what I wanted.
I would really love to see this in White and/or Susan's New Stone color.
Great cover up
I purchased this sweater in black & blue. Loved it so much I ordered the red& magenta. Perfect over light weight summer tops I wear in the office. Great to layer
I bought this in green & black. Sized down to a 1X from my normal 2X, and am glad I did, because it looks more fitted. These are great over sleeveless dresses & tanks. The fabric is soft and comfortable, and the green is a gorgeous color. Since I live in the South, I'll be able to wear these pretty much year round.
I love this Bolero I got the electric purple which is sooo pretty, looks like a tanzanite color..got so many compliments on it..thanks so much Susan Graver and QVC for having such great tops at great prices I am a happy camper! :-)
too much work...
I am typically a small in SG's line. (8-10) is my size. I have a 36C bust with small shoulders. I point this out because the small in this bolero was way too big. As many other reviewers stated I still chose to go with my normal SG size for fear the XS would be too small and not wanting to incur additional shipping charges. Which, I'm going to anyway. I like a bolero to lay close to the body and this one has way too much movement. Which, for me was distracting and not flattering. Also, the sleeves were nice but they dropped below your elbow in a spot where you feel like you have to push them up. That would have been fine but mine did not have enough elastic to push and stay put. I bought the turq & peridot (green) which on camera looked as I would expect. However, at home, the blue is less turquoise than expected and the green was more of an army green not a peridot. I will say the fabric was nice and it is well made. Sorry Susan : (
But the sleeves....
I just love the soft material of this garment but oh the sleeves! Somehow they distract from the lovely drape of the bolero. I tried rolling them up to hide the detail but that didn't work.
I think a plain sleeve for those of us over 60 would have been a better choice. Really sorry, but back it goes.
Very Cute But Sizing Is Inconsistent
I am 14" across my shoulders and have a size 36DD bust. After reading all the reviews, many of which said that the bolero runs very large, I ordered it in size XX-Small in both Electric Purple and Bright Turquoise. I tried on the Bright Turquoise first and it was too small across the chest and I thought for sure that I would need to return them both. However, the Electric Purple fits perfectly! On the plus side, this bolero gives nice coverage and is adorable. On the negative side, in addition to the sizing issue, the fabric is a bit too heavy to wear during Summer in the South. Having said that, the Electric Purple is still a keeper (I can wear it in the Spring and Fall and probably during part of the Winter.)
