K32066 - Surprise Filled Nonstick 12-cup Cupcake Pan
I've had this pan since october and I am not thrilled with it. my suprise insde always drops to the bottom of the cupcake. THis pan has wound up at the back of my cabinet.
Just Did Not Cut It.......
I ordered this pan so that I could make the many different cupcakes that was shown on presentation. Unfortunely, it did not work. Every time I made a pan full of the delectable little cakes, the candy stuck to the bottom of the wrapper and when you tried to remove the paper cup, it tore the cupcake into pieces. Once the cupcake cooled off, so did the candy. The candy became hard and very unpleasing to the palate. I tried different recipes with the same results. My pan must be different than the pans that other QVC members have purchased. I feel that I have given this pan enough time and ingredients to see if it is going to become a member of my kitchen appliances and decided that it just did not cut it.. I had purchased this a few months ago and had no occasion to use it until this past week. I can see why QVC is no longer offering this product in their line. Although I am happy for the QVC shoppers who bought this item and love it and I wish them well, as for me, it has been a waste of my time, money and patience and it is going back!
I made butter recipe yellow cupcakes with mini peanut butter cups inside, chocolate icing and Reese's peanut butter chips on top for a New Years eve party. HUGE hit! Especially with the teenagers. I can not tell you how many compliments I got! Yes, the candy dropped to the bottom on some, but really - the kids didn't care. I took them out while they were still warm and had very little mess to clean. FYI - if you're like me and are wondering if the batter seeps through the hole you have to make in the bottom of the wrapper, no worries. It doesn't!
I brought 2 doz cupcakes to a church fellowship dinner, chocolate with mini candy bars in the middle. They were HUGE success. Ordering more pans.
Thought these would be a great thing - and they are good - however, watch out for a few problems..............at least some that I had - cupcakes seem to be smaller than those I have baked before and for whatever reason - even though baked them less time than called for - the cupcakes were overdone. I used pb cups once and when they hardened - weren't good (possibly because the cake was overdone). Also tried pineapple and cherries with white cake - they were so-so. I'm not sending back - will try a few more times. The concept is great and what a great "surprise" for the kids and their friends.
They showed you can use caramels with this pan adding a bit of cake batter, then sticking on the caramel, then the rest of the cake batter. I used a paper liner as they said I should, and still, when I went to pull the cupcakes out of the pan, the caramel stuck to the prong and the cupcakes crumbled when you tried to pull the paper away. Tired other items and with the same result. Not a good design. Am returning.
Fun to bake with.
I made cupcakes with peanut butter cups inside. Delicious! They were a big hit. I gave it 4 stars because the weight of the pan is light. TIP: Remove cupcakes while warm so clean up is easier.
Fun and delicious!
We ordered this pan and had a great time coming up with different combinations to make! It's better to keep it simple. We had the most success using junior mints and marshmallows inside. Everyone has loved them so far. I wish it would have come with a recipe book.
This pan is the most disappointing item I have ever bought from QVC, and I've been buying since before the program was QVC! I have spent 2 mornings the past week attempting to make some "yummy" cupcakes. My first attempt was using Mini Reese's Peanut Butter cups. They turned out "okay", although in a few of them, the candy had sunk to the bottom even though I put the candy up high on the spike as directed. Decided to try again and since not everybody likes peanut butter in their cupcake I used mini Snickers in the ones I made today ~ disaster! The candies all sunk to the bottom of the wells. Obviously the candy is too heavy. Possibly I'll give it one more try before I "pack it up" & ship it back! Not sure though, because it seems like a lot of trouble to go out & buy the candy & spend the time baking the cupcakes only to be disappointed by the results!
Just okay so far
Just received my pan and tried the caramel in the center with just a regular yellow cake mix. It was okay, but only while the cupcake was warm, once it cools the caramel of course cools too and make is one hard blob in the middle. Trying to find a candy to put in the middle that will melt but yet still keep the right consistency. Not harden like caramel.
i just made cupcakes.with a carmel in the middle of it.my boys love them.but one thing my cupcake cups seem to be to thin.where would i get heavy ones at. thanks.
Really CUTE idea
I received this pan yesterday and had to immediatley bake some Halloween cupcakes with surprise fillings. I bought the mixed bag of minitures (snickers, milky way, 3 muskateers). Here is a tip that I learned...Make sure that you remove the cupcakes from the pan while they are still warm and clean the prongs right away because the caramel from the candies can be a pain to clean if you let it harden on the spikes. They came out really good...I was surprised and everyone at work this morning just LOVES them. These are a BIG hit and the pan is a great idea. I am going to buy another one because I think you really need two so you don't have to cook two batches.
