Sun Joe iON Cordless Chain Saw 40V 16" Brushless is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from easiest chain saw ever What can I say. When I need to use it, I put the battery in and go to work. Does better in fresh versus dry wood, but has the balance and feel of a high quality gas saw. Quiet and powerful and clean odorless operation. No tool chain tensioning is as easy as I have ever had to do. Love this tool!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great 40V chain saw After having bought Ryobi and Eco 40V chainsaws I have to say that the Sun JOE cuts faster with more power and the battery keeps going longer. Best of the lot and far more practical for cutting up logs 6" or more

Rated 4 out of 5 by from RPM ? I have owned this saw for about 10 months. I have cut about 10 face cords of firewood with it. I like it for the features and convenience of being an electric tool rather than gas. But my home owner quality gas chain saw seems to cut faster and I don't understand why. I'm thinking it is because of chain speed. I notice that the rpm is 4800 rpm. The corded electric chain saws that Sunjoe sells have rpm of 6000. It would be nice if Sunjoe would give me an answer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick And Easy Chainsaw Gets The Job Done. This chainsaw is great for the homeowner. It runs off a 40v Lithium Ion Battery that lasts up to 40 minutes. There's no need to worry about buying gas and mixing it with oil. All you have to do is put a charged battery in it, top it off with bar and chain oil, and away you go cutting logs. The saw passed all my tests. I highly recommend it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Chainsaw I noticed the review about the chain constantly falling off. I had the same experience at first and almost returned the chainsaw. It is a little work to get the chain back on, but I did and I needed to finish the job I started so this time I torqued the chain nice and tight. It worked! And worked and worked! I realized the chain needs to be a little tighter than I'm accustomed to with gas chainsaws. Now I find this chainsaw amazing and prefer it very much to gas. It has cut everything I've thrown at it without a problem including two 30 foot 14" cedar trees which I continued to cut into firewood. I cut each tree on different occasions, and each time I cut the tree down and cut it into firewood length pieces on one charge with charge remaining. I also own the SnowJoe snow thrower which has worked well for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun chainsaw This thing runs amazing after to get it setup properly. At first I had the chain fall off a few times due to too much slack in the chain and another time for not tightening the chain tension adjuster lock tight enough. I ran an endurance test cutting 10" thick Locust hardwood logs and I was able to make 18 cuts non stop before the battery depleted. I cut pallets up into very small logs in my free time with this saw and the battery lasts a very long time per charge. If you put a lot of weight into the blade while its cutting, I will trip a self resetting breaker which I believe is for excessive current on the battery. If you let go of the trigger and pull it again, its ready to keep on going. My friend and I went to a city firewood pile and had a contest between his gas chainsaw and my battery powered one. I walked around casually cutting 14-20" thick by 18" long logs and filled his truck bed one layer while he was still trying to pull start his saw. His saw never started and I still had 1 light left on my battery plus another battery waiting in his cab (my snowjoe snowblower battery). I guesstimate I currently have 2 hours of hard chain spinning time with no problems other than my initial setup. All you do is occasionally check the oil, and read the instructions thoroughly.
