Rated 1 out of 5 by cgav Doesn't Stretch 15Ft. above Me
I got the sun joe telescopic chainsaw. After putting on the chain and oil, I went out to start cutting limbs 10 - 15 feet above me.
The arm only stretched just short of 3 feet, after flipping the switch to extend it.
I played around with it thinking something I forgot to do to adjust further.
To this point, frustrated.
I think I'm going to turn it in for a longer one if there is.

We had several trees that needed their branches cut. Tried a manual tree saw, but that just didn't do the job before your arms started to hurt. Got this for my husband and he loves it!! Works great and he even volunteered to cut the neighbors trees...LOL
Really does the job!!

I recieved the Sun Joe telescoping pole saw some time ago and was able to use it today, for the first time, so this review is current as of May, 2016. This product is easy to put together and very easy to use, just like they showed on theTSV. I can not believe the reach length and the safety of it. I was no where near the blade so I felt quite safe. Keep bringing these good products to QVC and we will continue to shop there. Thank you.

I purchased the8" inch saw around Christmas. I finally went to use it in May. I followed directions, video & sunjoe videos...didn't cut mud. I decided to put chain on the opposite way from video...voila! Cuts like butter. Love it!,

Worst product I've bought - for every 5 minutes I used - I had to re-adjust - when
it worked it worked but I spent more time fixing the unit then cutting. . . finally
after 30 minutes the chain "froze" on my - I had to pry the chain off the shaft
and couldn't for the life of me get it back on - this all happened last Saturday
in the course of 1 hour and 5 minutes on using product - I sent it back.

This product is great! I'm giving it 4 stars because it was a bit difficult to set up. Watched a YouTube video that made set up simple. Very easy to use. My friend's son used it to cut down a large holly bush. He works for a landscaper and said this has lots of power. Almost forgot it was electric. I should really rate it as 4.75 stars.

I was able to use this product 3 times for a total of 2 hours before it started to make a very high pitched squeal. Along with this noise the saw now starts and rotates but sticks frequently. It did work very well for the few times I used it and I was sure not to use it on branches which were to thick. It is extremely top heavy at the saw end and does get very heavy.

We purchased a Sun Joe Electric Telescopic Pole Saw at the end of March when it was a TSV. We were very excited to get it because we've been wanting one for some time.
When it came, we put it together and took it straight outdoors to try it out. We couldn't have been more bummed...it didn't work. It didn't cut even a 1" branch very well...and it took forever. We thought it was junk and were ready to send it back. I went on qvc.com and read a lot of reviews and most of them were excellent but there were a few that seemed to have the same experience we had...that the thing didn't work...it didn't cut thru those limbs like butter. It was at that point where we began to wonder if we had done something wrong putting it together.....but not having a lot of experience with this type of tool, we weren't sure.
Then lo and behold a great thing happened...a friend of ours came over and noticed the saw sitting on my husbands work bench and said "you have the chain on backwards" What??!!?? WE DO?! Turns out...yes, we did. We had the chain on wrong and that's why it wasn't working as advertised. It wasn't the saw at all...it was us and our inexperience.
We took it apart, flipped the chain in the other direction and tried it again. This time it worked like a charm! Cut thru those tree limbs like they were made of butter...
So to all of you who have given this tool a bad review...take note. It is probably not the saw...you probably did the same thing we did. Take it apart...flip that chain over and try it again. Betcha it WORKS!!
I do have to say though, that the instruction book could have been a little more clear. It showed a picture of the chain and which direction it was suppose to go but that doesn't really help people who have no experience with this type of thing. It would have helped to have clear, step by step directions instead of just a picture of the chain with an arrow pointing up.
That being said, now that we have it working right we see what a great little saw it really is...we'll have our overgrown trees cut back in no time now!
