Not noisy, chews wood of stated size easily! The only thing I dont like, the "mouth" on top is too small to fit in some leaves that goes along with the wood/branches, and the outlet is pointed downward, straight (should have been better if pointing forward!)... I hope Sun Joe have something in store to make this wider, more accomodating.

This is a great chipper for reducing yard waste, fallen branches and garden waste into useable organic mulch!
The main body is assembled from the factory. You'll only need a phillips screwdriver to assemble the metal base to the main body. Then you'll use the included wrench to attach your wheels and hubcabs. In less then 10 minutes, you're ready to start chipping.
This machine can handle hard and soft woods up to 1.57 inches and reduces it at a rate of 17:1. It's 15 amp motor is extremely powerful and doesn't bog down even with thick material.
It can also be used to dispose of dried garden waste like stems and large leaves.
At no point during my usage did the machine even slow down, even when I chipped larger hard maple branches. It just gobbled them up, self feeding as it chopped.
A push paddle comes tethered to the handle for pushing debris into the machine, so that your hands always stay safe.
When done, just wheel the machine out of the way and rake out the mulch pile. Or you can mulch directly into a bin for disposal or later use.
This weighs about 26 pounds and has large treaded wheels to go over bumpy yards and flower beds. It will fit into the trunk of most cars. The base is wide and stable You can position this exactly where you want to leave a pile of mulch and get to work.
Unlike other machines you can actually remove the cover and maintain the blades on this machine. It has twin blades, both are reversible giving you a longer life span before the blades need to be replaced. A wrench to remove the blades is included.
Lightweight, powerful, well made, stable and easy to maintain. Everything you could ask for in a chipper/shredder. The fact that it can be ready to go in a few minutes and the blades are serviceable by the end user makes this a top notch machine.

A little disappointed, branches that were the correct size kept getting caught. Had a difficult time getting them to push thru or reposition.

I bought an older model (CJ601E) that had been well used at a rummage sale with low expectations as I have used small electric chippers before and found them marginal at best. I cut a lot of trees for firewood for myself and others. I cut a 50ft Black Birch which is hard, stringy wood. This machine chipped 85% of the branches with no problem. I am seriously impressed! Keep in mind that this chipper was well used before I bought it. If this chipper fails I will definitely buy the newer, more powerful one (CJ602E). This is a good product. Some suggestions for use:
(1) It likes fresh, green limbs 1in or smaler. It will chip dry limbs but it complains.
(2) I suggest placing a "Contractors Tub" under the discharge to catch the chippings. It makes it easier dump them in a wheelbarrow. I tried using a 5gal bucket but found that it blew dust, etc., back at me.
(3) Instead of having to bundle and haul off branches, I ended up with some great mulch which I was able to put in gardens and on the yard. When you consider the cost of a bag of mulch, this machine actually saves money. I filled 2 1/2 55gal drums with excellent mulch.
