Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only Worked On Loose Dirt This did not work on solid dirt. We tried dry dirt, after the rain dirt, nothing. We ended up breaking the dirt up with shovels-long and very hard work. Once the dirt was loose, we tried to use it again. It worked better with loosened dirt so we used it to break down some of the clumps & add in the soil amendments. It was basically useless to us. There is not enough weight in the unit to push it down into the dirt- it just danced across the top. Would not purchase again nor would I gift this item. I guess I should have realized that the demo showing garden soil in a man made box REALLY does not simulate a yard in any stretch of the imagination. My husband is still laughing at me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WORST buy ever... DO NOT PURCHASE I tried to use this on a small area where the dirt was solid. I took my time and tried to do a small area. The tines would nt turn consistently. They would lock up and it smelled like it was getting hot. I stopped and tried again and it was worst. It rained and I waited or the ground to dry so that it would not be muddy and this tiller would not work then either and the tines were stopping and they were not even on the ground...... Very bad . If there was a ZERO stars that is what I would rate this item. Sorry but bad item

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic small rototiller for clearing weeds I purchased this for my son last year to help make his yard work easier in his very large yard. He absolutely loves it. He was able to clear and till a 10 x 30 ft area for a garden last spring without struggle. He also uses it to keep weeds under control in areas where he has no grass or ground cover. After the very heavy rains we had in CA this year, my backyard became over-run with weeds as high as two feet. My son used this easy to operate tiller and completely cleared them from my yard. This is a well made, easy to use, mini rototiller for both large and small areas of your garden/yard. I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this garden tool!!!! I bought mine last year and love it ! I was able to til around my large garden all summer and didn't need my husbands help. You just need a long extension cord. Not a big deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love! I live in California. I bought this tiller last year, but really had to wait until the drought was over before using as I didn't want to use the water to soak the soil. I have heavy clay soil and it was cement hard due to our lack of water. Just started using this unit now that we have had some rain and I LOVED it. It tackled my garden with gusto:) Plenty of power for my needs. Went down 6-8" without a problem. It jammed a couple of times when a rock got wedged in the blades, but it is easy to hear when that was happening and after I removed the rock it was easy to continue. I liked the fact it would go through my ground cover without jamming. Notes: The plastic housing will bleach out in the sun, so keep it covered. Came with instructions on exactly what to look for when buying an extension cord. CS was great when I called to ask a question.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from another review for this product since my last review, the product I received kept jamming. After I registered the product and wrote Sun Joe about my issue, I have since received a new cultivator that WORKS like a charm, it does not jam or stop. I got a return label and I packed up the not working one and shipped it back to the company. They were great and I would recommend this product, based on the service alone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work!!! I bought this a few months ago but used it for the first time today. It doesn't turn the dirt over at all. It stops as soon as you hit the dirt - unless the dirt is very soft, it won't work at all!! It's been over 30 days so it cannot be returned. What an expensive mistake, especially for someone on a fixed income. I'm so disappointed, I wish I had used it sooner and then I could have sent it back. At this point, I would not even want a replacement. The product is inferior and doesn't work as shown on the QVC demonstration. This is the first thing I have ever bought from QVC in 20 years that I have been disappointed with. It is junk!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worse purchase ever Unless your soil is soft and fluffy this tiller will not work. I have a electric Troy-built tiller and cultivator already but I thought I would use this just to do light work in the garden. Did I ever make a mistake. I put it in the ground to dig up the dirt and the cultivator stops working. It doesn't want to dig up the dirt. It struggles so bad. I had some grass in my garden and it would stop completely. It would not get the grass out. So I brought my Troy-built tiller out and it did the job. My 30 days are up and can not send it back. I wish I could get my money back but I can't. It is a piece of garbage. I will just stick with my Troy-built. That one is very good.
