Spear Head Gardening Shovel & Spade
The perfect size for gardening
I used this to landscape my new yard with over 200 plants and shrubs this past summer. This is the perfect size for gardening. It cuts right through the Bermuda Grass and the poor soil here i Kentucky. I have recommended it to several other avid gardeners.
A BACK SAVER!!
I ordered this for myself as an anniversary gift (in case my spouse forgot, then-yeah he did). Hey, it's OK, last year I bought a convertible ladder as my spouse is afraid of heights. This has made planting, weeding, cultivating so easy for me and that's huge, I am not THAT old, but I have neuromuscular disease. I should probably buy one for every corner of the house, as I use this implement for so many things I never know where I left it last. This "spear head" makes so much more possible, I love it. I can't walk half of the time, but I can plant, weed, dig any season. Someone has to. :]
Best tool in my garden shed
Love this tool, just wonder why it took so long to develop. Great for anyone with a bad back and a rocky garden. It is amazing how easy it makes many of my garden tools and is definitely the one I go to the most. I find I can do more in a day and have less aches and pains the next day - a good thing for older gardeners.
BEST SHOVEL this SENIOR'S EVER USED!
After purchasing many items from QVC, I have to say this SHOVEL is at the TOP of my list, (along with the Little Giant Ladder and my Lock & Lock containers). I am 5'2", so the handle is the perfect length. Dividing bulbs this fall was almost as easy as cutting through butter in our hard clay soil! My muscle strength isn' t what it was when I was younger, so gardening isn't as much fun, because the other shovels were too cumbersome, but this one is wonderful and makes quick work of big jobs! If you have a yard or garden, do yourself a favor and put this in your tool arsenal! You'll be glad you did!
'Who would this be a perfect gift for?' ANYONE who enjoys working outside!
Does a great job
My wife ordered one of these for garden work and transplanting grasses. I though I would try it on the job in place of using a bulb auger. It does an excellent job for what I need and it will save my drill from the auger bit binding on rocks/shale in the soil.
Now I have my own and keep it in my vehicle. I especially like the composite handle and shaft.
This product is certainly great for the heavy clay soil of Missouri. I also love the fact it can be in two different lengths. I am short and a shorter length makes my work much easier. I certainly recommend, just wish I had had at the beginning of the season. Oh well spring will come and I'll be in the garden again.
This little shovel probably wonders what it did to deserve such a hard life. We have over an acre in landscape. A 1400 sq ft dahlia garden and an 1800 sq. ft. produce garden. Plus all the rest of the property. This poor little shovel is worked hard! It is stored right next to the tractor....and is out every day...working. I should have bought a few more. A great product.
Husband Loves It!
Since my husband does most of the yardwork I thought I might help him out a little with this little "gift". After seeing all the 5 star ratings I knew I couldn't miss. I was right. He really does love this little shovel. Just right for a small wall building project he had to finish up on the patio. Way to go QVC!
Best Purchase forever!!
Been redoing all my flower beds with this spade!! Wish I had this tool years ago!!!
I got this to split my daylilies & hostas. It did an amazing job, made it very easy & enjoyable. So glad I saw the presentation & got this.
Handle should be longer
This is a very good shovel when used for dividing plants or digging holes. However, if you are a taller person the handle is not long enough to be able to use it to spade an area.because of having to bend so much to use it. I notice in reviews that some people refer to their shorter height and they are delighted with it. I'm keeping it only because it does so well with dividing the plants and it's easier to remove the deepest weeds.
A "MUST HAVE"
Where has this shovel been all my life! It makes any job a breeze compared to those big bulky shovels. A must have for any gardener!
