Why is the Sleeping Beauty Turquoise almost free of matrix or markings in the stone?
For Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, we closely monitor the range of blue color and the level of mottling, matrix and markings we will accept. Sleeping Beauty Turquoise can have all of these markings in the stone, but QVC currently accepts only Sleeping Beauty Turquoise that is free of markings.

What is matrix?
Turquoise deposits usually form in iron-rich host rock which tends to create dark brown or tan markings called matrix.

Where is Turquoise mined?
Turquoise is found in only a few places on earth: dry and barren regions where acidic, copper-rich groundwater seeps downward and reacts with minerals that contain phosphorus and aluminum. Some areas that most of the turquoise has been mined: Arizona, Mexico and China. Sleeping Beauty Turquoise is from the Sleeping Beauty mine outside Globe, Arizona. The mine got its name because the mountain where it is mined resembles a sleeping woman laying on her back with her arms crossed.

How can we continue to sell Sleeping Beauty Turquoise if the mine is closed?
QVC suppliers have acquired large quantities of rough turquoise when they learned the mine was closing. We have been using these lots of Sleeping Beauty Turquoise for our jewelry.

The Sleeping Beauty mine is currently closed and, at this time, there is no new production of the Sleeping Beauty stones.

Awesome If you like liquid silver and turquoise you will love ths necklace. I wore it with a top that matched the color turquoise and got compliments. I wore it with the Roderick Tenorio sliver hoops and it matched well. 05-03-11
Didn't Hang Right! I really wanted this one to work with the pin/pendant from the same company. But when I hung it one strand buckled out much longer than the other 4 and looked awful. If this hadn't happened I would have kept it because it was beautiful. 09-07-10
well made While I appreciate the workmanship in creating this piece, it does not "flow" the way liquid silver alone does, due to the beads at the bottom. I'm referring only to the longer length. The bottom station of turquoise beads is a bit stiff relative to the silver, and when I tried it with a pendant, I found that the pendant would not remain in the center on the beaded area. Judging from the other reviews, I suspect that the shorter necklace falls very nicely. 06-19-10
PRETTY NECKLACE DON'T HESITATE WITH THIS ONE I BOUGHT THIS NECKLACE IN APRIL AND WHEN IT ARRIVED I WAS VERY PLEASED. IT IS DAINTY BUT VERY PRETTY. IT CAN BE WORN ALONE OR WITH AN ENHANCER ATTACHED. I LIKE TO WEAR IT TO FRAME ANOTHER STERLING CHAIN WITH A SOUTHWESTERN PENDANT ATTCHED. I BOUGHT THE 24' JUST FOR THIS PURPOSE. IT LOOKS SOOO PRETTY. THE NECKLACE IS WELL MADE AND WORTH THE PRICE I BELIEVE. BUY IT YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. 04-18-10
Looks Great On! I've always wanted to buy this necklace and I'm so glad I finally did! It's beautiful. I've been wearing it alone or with my new cross extender from Roderick Tenorio. I love the length, I can just slip it over my head. It looks great over a black turtleneck or on bare skin. 02-28-10
