I pride myself on my ability to take a hammer to some screws and build something beautiful (but I'd rather have it delivered in one piece). But this was so easy. No hammer needed. Just a screwdriver, nails, patience, and a couple of extended breaks. Be careful because the box is super heavy. The instructions advise that this is a two person job and takes about an hour to complete. Speaking of instructions, they were easy to follow and all of the pieces were present. I worked alone and it took a total of....AN HOUR. Love the finish and love the design. It is a conversation piece and holds a lot of my books and what-nots. This piece would be useful for anyone who would like to create some space and loves organization.
Tip: Once you build the rotating base, place it in the location where you would like the bookcase to sit. You can then build from there. If you wait until it is built, you may give yourself a hernia while using your might to push it across the room. I hope this helps.
