I was so excited to get this...until today when we finally had enough snow (about 3-5" on walkway, driveway and sidewalk) to shovel. Unfortunately, this just pushed about half the snow like a regular shovel...the other half was tossed several feet away, and the scraper part worked well, but I ended up with piles of snow that I had to shovel with my old-fashioned shovel. I tried adjusting the angle...tilting it high and low...and just ended up throwing snow where I had already cleared. My son tried it too, thinking a taller person would have better luck, but still we had the same results. So...back it goes. I'm so disappointed...I had such high hopes!
Rated 3 out of 5 by Antman8180 Good little snow shovel
It'll throw snow really well and I was able to finish the entire driveway with a single charge, but the shovel does not get down to the concrete and leaves a thin layer of snow that still needs to be removed with a shovel; I also have serious doubts about the longevity of the plastic blades, I cringe whenever I hit uneven concrete or a stone; the handle won't stay put and I know if I torque it down I'll crack the plastic, the battery cover will not stay closed on its own as well, I will have to figure something out... velcro perhaps?

I got this product as a gift last year and it has been the best time I have ever had shoveling. The size and weight are perfect for a small house that has a 1 or 2 car drive way. I live in a fairly small neighborhood and I enjoy blowing snow over to my neighbors sidewalks and yards. The only con I have with this product is that you must be shoveling downwind, otherwise your getting a face full of snow. The price is a little steep, but definitely worth it!!!

I love the snow joe! I have bought two now. One for my home and one for my work site! Great for quick jobs.

I purchased this product because of the many steps and staircases we have on the property. I was very impressed with its power and its ease of use on steps. I thought it would be a bit hard to handle but it cleared the steps quite easy. I was able to hold it up and use it as a broom just to start the path. It was also great for those spots that a snow blower just can not get to or do. I will be recommending these to our other properties. Also I would like to note it had NO problem with wet heavy snow. It didn't throw it far but why would you.

We are in the process of getting 10+ inches of snow. My wife needed to go to work tonight so instead of getting my Snow Joe iON out I decided to take this little thing out. What a pleasant surprise. So easy to use. It is so powerful. I used it to clean the sidewalk and down the side of the cars so she could get in the Trailblazer. While it shoots a rooster tail out the front all I had to do was hold it on an angle to get it to shoot out to the street. I don't think the street crew is very happy with me now :-)

I can't compare this to other snow shovels since the is the first one I have owned. Previously I had a larger area and used a gas powered snowblower. I live in upstate NY and so far we have had 2 significant snowfalls. Both have been heavy, wet snow. Difficult for any machine. I clear an area roughly 15' wide and 30' long. Sure, it took a little effort but I was impressed with the power of this thing and not having a cord is well worth the additional cost. In lighter snow this thing ought to be amazing. At no time did I use even a third of the battery and the recharge time is very short. I am somewhat mobility challenged due to a auto accident, but this device is well balanced and reasonably light. It is NOT a replacement for a snowblower, but for smaller areas it's great. In wet snow, I would reccomended letting no more than 4 or 5 inches accumulate before using. Although I found that with a little patience it can handle more. Highly reccomended. Now, we'll see how it holds up, but so far, so good.
