"Slow Cookin' Companion" Cookbook by the Crockin' Girls
I love this cookbook as it has easy reciepes and ingredients you can find at your store. Love!
Great For New Cooks
I'm not a new cook but do love the simplicity of these recipes. Tried a few and they're good! One thing I wish were in recipes is how many servings each provides
Great and easy
I loved all the recipe's! Now I am actually using my slow cooker with ease!!
Can't wait to make these recipes! If they are 1/2 as good as they look, I shall be thrilled!
great cookbook addition!!
This is a great addition to my cookbook library..I love getting a new one and looking thru it the first time. This has few ingredients that are easy to find and so yummy!
BEST SLOW COOKER COOKBOOK
This is a great cookbook, after reading it every recipe makes you just want to try them. I have never has a cookbook in which I want to try them all, it is just great, just like everything I buy from QVC...
Very Good Purchase
This cookbook uses actual ingredients that an average person has in their home. In is designed easy to find recipes. Along with photos, ingredients list and finally the recipe. I would recommend this cookbook to everyone.
Pretty pictures that's all.
I wanted to really like this cookbook, but these gals have just slapped together a bunch of receipes off of commercial soup cans and onion soup mix. No nutritional information provided, and in most cases the receipes yield/quantity is not listed. Green bean casserole? Like who does'nt know that receipe? Disappointing.
easy to read
The book is a generous size with clear instructions and ingredients.Even with my glasses, I have a great deal of trouble reading the fine print many of my cook books use. Not the case with this book. The page stays where you open it until you close the book - another big plus when following directions. This is the handiest cook book I have!
In contrast to cookware, utensil and gadget presentations, cookbooks should give as much how-to to someone who never boiled water and new tips to the seasoned chef. Just because we become dazzled during the shows by the mouth-watering dishes displayed from an author's book does not translate into that person's ability to explain the procedures to duplicate those recipes. I found this book to be a complete waste of my money: no mention of the vessel size, material (ceramic, non-stick, metal, glass, etc.) or best functions that the authors use or recommend. The instructions comprise no more than a two line footnote. This is a glossy "picture book" of finished dishes fluffed up with family photos and environmental scenes. Other cooks, especially the staff of America's Test Kitchen, hold my hand through every step to ensure good results.
Going to be costly but back this goes. Just cans of soup and meat dumped in the crockpot. Agree with other reviews.....minimal variety and most taste bad . Yes', lovely pictures just wish the food was as good!
NOT FOR ME
Just reading through the book before I made anything I could tell this was not what I was looking for. Also, there is no mention of how many servings the recipe made. I only cook for myself and I didn't want to end up with ten servings when I only need four to six. Will be returning.
