I was surprised as soon as I opened the box. The ring on TV had such fire, appearing turquoise and red. The ring I received the Mexican fire opals looked dark and orange. Even in the daylight, no fire at all. And the Mexican fire opal's placement appeared crooked. I can't figure out where the price came from. I still can't believe it was the same ring as the presentation. Back it went, ASAP.

This ring is BEAUTIFUL! The fire opals DEFINITELY have that lit from within glow that high quality fire opals should have. The fire opals used in this ring do NOT disappoint! The sleeping beauty turquoise offers a glow as well thanks to the crystal quartz on top. The two contrasting colors as well as the FABULOUS glow from the separate gems makes this ring a STUNNING purchase and I LOVE the fact that they were not stingy on the amount of fire opals used in this ring. There's a double row of them around the turquoise itself then a row on the top and bottom of the split shank that extend to the halfway point on your finger. SO GLAD I FINALLY purchased this piece. It TRULY IS LOVELY!

I watched the presentation for this ring during the recent Gem Day and knew I had to have it based on the beauty of a previous, but similar, SBT doublet ring I already bought from QVC. On TV this ring had an amazing glow from the fire opals, but in person it's completely dull and lifeless. The black rhodium setting can often enhance a stone's beauty, but in this case it only serves to darken the stones and block any lighting. Two stars for the creative stone combination, but it's definitely not worth $600+ and it's going back.
