Why is the Sleeping Beauty Turquoise almost free of matrix or markings in the stone?
For Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, we closely monitor the range of blue color and the level of mottling, matrix and markings we will accept. Sleeping Beauty Turquoise can have all of these markings in the stone, but QVC currently accepts only Sleeping Beauty Turquoise that is free of markings.

What is matrix?
Turquoise deposits usually form in iron-rich host rock which tends to create dark brown or tan markings called matrix.

Where is Turquoise mined?
Turquoise is found in only a few places on earth: dry and barren regions where acidic, copper-rich groundwater seeps downward and reacts with minerals that contain phosphorus and aluminum. Some areas that most of the turquoise has been mined: Arizona, Mexico and China. Sleeping Beauty Turquoise is from the Sleeping Beauty mine outside Globe, Arizona. The mine got its name because the mountain where it is mined resembles a sleeping woman laying on her back with her arms crossed.

How can we continue to sell Sleeping Beauty Turquoise if the mine is closed?
QVC suppliers have acquired large quantities of rough turquoise when they learned the mine was closing. We have been using these lots of Sleeping Beauty Turquoise for our jewelry.

The Sleeping Beauty mine is currently closed and, at this time, there is no new production of the Sleeping Beauty stones.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Sleeping Beauty Slept Too Hard Beautiful bracelet with ALL the color that is advertised, but sadly in checking my jewelry 2 days before the 30 days were up, I found 2 (two) cracked pieces in the bracelet. How sad I was to have to return the item. I had a choice to re-order it, but after I saw a sleeping beauty gem actually fall out of a ring setting while being displayed on air the other night, am a bit reluctant to want any more. True it is beautiful and I am supporting a ring that I bought the first of the year of sleeping beauty, but I wonder if it is a soft gem, by being so pure. I love my ring and am looking to maybe purchase another piece down the road. Thanks QVC for prompt attention to correcting the issue. 06-15-15

Rated 1 out of 5 by Shebler My first impression was, I love it. Wrong.... Within a week a stone fell out. Extremely disappointed. Also the quality of the metal bracelet is poor. 04-28-15
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very Pretty, But Loved this bracelet when I received it, however, after the first day, a stone came out, and on the second day, another stone was missing. Sent it back. Save your money 04-17-15
Rated 4 out of 5 by loved it but..... I bought this a few months ago and think it is absolutely gorgeous. Only wore it a couple of times and when I got home the other night discovered a stone is missing. I sent it back even though it has been more then a month but I am such a big qvc customer I hope they will send me another one. If they no longer have it in my size or have it at all I sure hope I am refunded as I would only expect from qvc. I normally email first to find out what to do and am always told they will take care of it. I can tell you all that I am always satisfied. I love this so much and now have noticed the other reviews and am hoping it doesn't happen again. It would be 5 stars if not for this. I bought it before it went down in price so it is too expensive to lose out on. 04-12-15
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed, too . . . I bought this bracelet last July as item #J318164 and paid $199 for it. I loved it and wore it often . . . fancied it as my "signature piece" because I Iove turq, especially outside of summer months . . . makes me happy. Four months later, one stone fell out. I called CS and got a very nice lady. I told her that I wanted to purchase a replacement stone. She told me that she could not give me the name of a vendor to purchase a single stone. She offered to replace it but it was out of stock at that time. She said I could return it. I sent it back immediately. I appreciate that they "bent" the rules for me since it was long out of the 30 day return period. I was very surprised to see it offered (under a different item #) on Gem Day, especially after I read so many comments that had similar situations to mine........stones falling out. 01-27-15
Rated 1 out of 5 by What a shame I got this bracelet as a Christmas gift from my husband. I wore it for the first time yesterday and already two stones have fallen out and are lost. I of course will be returning it before the end of the month. I dearly love the bracelet but it is far too expensive to be so poorly made. What a shame!!! 01-06-15
Rated 1 out of 5 by Beautiful but has Serious Problems This bracelet is beautiful. I bought this as a gift, and the first time it was worn, one of the stones fell out and was lost. How embarrassing to give someone a gift that falls apart. The quality simply does not justify the cost of this bracelet. I am sad because it truly is so pretty . 12-30-14
