Sleep Number Ultimate Euro Top Adjustable SK Mattress w/ Spacer Knit
Should have done this sooner!
Have had low back pain for years. Two friends raved about theirs but I hesitated because of the risk vs. price. Easy pay option and risk-free return option persuaded me to go for it. I truthfully have had no back pain upon rising in the a.m. now since sleeping on this bed! Still have medical problems with my back but no longer due to sleeping on the "wrong" bed. Would agree with other reviewers that unless you have a handy helper in your household, it is worth the extra fee to get someone else to set it up for you and cart off your old mattress.
Glad I did it
The instructions were not as helpful as they could have been. Although different size screws and bolts were included there was no mention as to which size to use for each application.
The mattress does slid and has to be readjusted often.
Other than these minor flaws the bed is comfortable and being able to adjust the back and foot of the bed is great.
After a long time in deciding to purchase or not, I am glad I did.
I had watched the presentation several times and finally decided to order. I can honestly say this is the best purchase I have made from QVC.( My UPS man told me he
had one and loved it. ) The directions were fairly straight forward and my husband and I
assembled it in about 1 1/2 hours. Took us about 4 days to find our perfect sleep number. My husband was reluctant at first, but the easy pay option convinced him to order. I'm glad we are retired, cause we are now sleeping later and more soundly. I have had chronic back aches that have been greatly relieved. We LOVE our adjustable split
king bed !!!
So far so good
We received the bed earlier than anticipated, which was great. However, my hubby and I aren't the handiest of folks, and just by looking at the six boxes, I knew we needed reinforcement -- time to call in the pros. So I called Sleep Number customer service, not knowing for sure if I could order set-up assistance since we'd purchased the bed from QVC, and not the Sleep Number store itself. To my relief and surprise, they did! It was a $179 set-up fee (and they haul away your old mattress), but it was so worth it. It took two guys 1 1/2 hours to put it all together. They even said this bed was harder to assemble than any of their "regular" beds. As far as the bed itself, it took us a couple of weeks to get used to, but now it feels pretty good. I love my new bed.
Saying it takes 1 person 1 hour to put this bed together is a bit of a stretch. There was no DVD just a paper in the box with the instructions for the assembly of the adjustable base. I got online and found more detailed instructions. The first half of course was the most difficult so the second one went together a lot faster. We upgraded from a regular king sleep number modular bed that was 6 yrs old. My son is getting my old bed. This bed sits lower than my old one because it doesn't have the thick base and I have the 4in legs on it. The controls for the pump are very quiet which is great and the adjustability for the head and feet is great also. It was a little difficult to get the 3" pad under the zip around part but we managed. I find putting the split sheets on it easier because you only have to lift a twin xl mattress instead of a full king. I found sheets a bit cheaper somewhere else than the Q! Hopefully the pump and controllers will hold out. I had to take a star off for the difficulty and length of time to put together. Also they just bring the bed which comes in 6 boxes and leave them on the porch. A couple of them weighed almost 90lbs! So far the bed is comfortable so we are happy with our purchase. Time will tell....
