Rated 1 out of 5 by LookingforQuality Sleep Number highly overrated
Beware of this product. While the air mattresses are okay, all the surrounding support including the mattress cover and supporting foam, break down faster than a mattress that cost 1/4 of the cost. I've had this mattress for six years and it needs a new mattress cover and surrounding foam support and the important parts ARE NOT covered by the warranty,
considered normal wear and tear. Would NOT buy another. This is only the second review I've ever written on a product anywhere! Do not buy!
Rated 1 out of 5 by Kobayashi good bed, major flaw, terrible warranty
Don't buy this with the warranty in mind. It's a terrible warranty. It does not cover the most common things that tend to go wrong with this bed (and there's actually a lot that will since there are so many different parts to any sleep number bed (I purchased a sleep number, though not sure what model as its been a few years)-- the chambers, the foam, the pillowtop, the pump, the seal, the remote, etc.). Biggest issue - the warranty decreases every year you own it, and it does not cover anything related to the foam or pillowtop losing firmness due to your body. From the website: "Your warranty excludes claims for conditions arising from normal wear and tear including but not limited to mattress cover compression, foam compression, discoloration of parts or normal body indentations." Once this happens, you need a whole new bed or to buy those parts yourself and replace them yourself (in fact, they've made me install/do everything when something has gone wrong -- even things I felt I didn't really have the technical sophistication to do well). So, if you're on the fence between this bed and a competitor, consider this information carefully. In about 8 years, your mattress will very likely dip and sag and you'll need a new bed, and it WON'T be covered under warranty.
