Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Casual Low-Cut Shoe The Alley Cat is, quite simply, the best casual low-cut men's shoe out there. It marries style and function into a timeless, classic product that I hope keeps on being produced, since I can no longer find it in any store. Growing up, I was curious of and eventually envied my classmates in school wearing these (there were quite a bit of them), and when I finally got my first pair ten years ago, it became part of my own school uniform for a bit. With regards to comfort, it's not the most foot-tickling sensation out there, but it IS very nice on the feet, and even at the end of a long day at class, I still didn't want to take them off. The quality is what led me to give them away in favor of other shoes, though I partally regret it now. Construction is amazing; I expect a decade or more out of these. However, the leather - I got the black smooth - bubbled and started cracking about 5 years on, to the point that the recipient actually peeled everything off to make it look better. With regards to style, well, its eye-catching design was what piqued my interest in the first place, and it is one of the most handsome and cool-looking shoes I've ever seen - but the reason I said it's the best casual shoe is because I wouldn't catch myself wearing these underneath suits. It's too clunky for them; I would rather wear something slimmer. My opinion is that these shoes fall strictly into casual territory. Apart from that, they go really well with the most relaxed of T-shirt-and-jeans looks, but also something a bit smarter (but still not business-ready) such as a button-down and khakis. The thick sole is useful for rather inclement environments, though since it's a low-cut shoe, rain may pose a problem. I do walk a lot, and these babies fit the bill for such. They're also real nifty for driving, especially since I usually drive in work boots. As I regret giving them away, I will be buying them again soon, but in the suede-like material instead. Thanks, Skechers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lasts a Iong time with great arch support! Everyday casual work wear. I have slightly fallen arches and this model has the best support and lasted me for a couple of years of nearly everyday use!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from never again Never again. I don't understand why Skechers doesn't fix their quality control issues.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good deal I bought Orthotics last year and the doctor thought the sketches were perfect for them for their support. They are not a new pair, so I had old shoes and new Orthotics! So I bought the new Skechers and the Orthotics fit in great. It's a perfect combination of support and style.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Oxford Nice oxford style shoe that is comfortable right out of the box with no breaking in or discomfort wearing the first couple days. I plan to buy the brown version as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am loyal to skechers!!! I am loyal to skechers. I have owned skechers shoes for a very long time. I have just bought this brown pair to upgrade my previous one of 12 winters, 50 state parks hiking, 3 moves, 2 superglues (boot coming off the sole), and so much more. I still have them and will to wear them until they literally fall apart. This would be like advertising a car that made it 300000 miles.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Material was not glued properly and started to bubble This is the third pair in years and this shoe, I found defective on poor craftsmanship and obviously was made on a late Friday afternoon

Rated 5 out of 5 by from my second pair of this shoe A nice, stylish casual/dress shoe that comes in dark colors. Although categorized as a work shoe, this shoe likely would scuff easily and would not serve the wearer well as a work shoe. It is a fine shoe with chino or casual dress trousers. This shoe replaced an older pair that was a 1/2 size smaller. The fit was very comfortable.
