Sistema Set of 4 Klip It Microwave Soup Bowls
Not Quite as Wonderful
When I first got these, I was very happy with the way they reheat food, and I still am. But these aren't quite the little miracles that Chef Tony and David would have you believe. They do blister, they do stain, and I can forgive those flaws, but what really bothers me about them is that they leak if they aren't perfectly level. I take oatmeal to work with me every morning and right before I leave I pour milk on top of the oatmeal. I carry it in a plastic bag and try to make sure the bowl is situated as flat as I can get it, but inevitably a turn will disturb the bowl. I end up with milk all over the inside of the plastic bag despite having the locks down tight. They need to find out from the Lock & Lock people how its done. Would I recommend this product? Yes... until Lock & Lock starts making something similar... and only with a warning that there are some flaws that should be addressed.
The idea is good, product bad. Have the same bubbling problem as others. Also over flows the top vent.
Nice idea but....
Liked the size of the bowls, but they don't stack at all. Used to heat up my soup. Looked good til I went to clean the bowl. The bowl was blistered on the lower sides. Wasn't happy!
So I tried another bowl later and it did the same thing, 2 out of 4 bowls. Not a good average.
And it was too late to send back.
What a shame cause I use them every day. I really do like the product except like other people have said - they do warp/pit. If they could remake them w/o the plastic warping, I would replace. I agree with one of the other people who reviewed this product. Tara should make a 32 oz mug with a plastic lid - temptations would not warp in the microwave. I have problems with all plastic products in my microware. I have one of the best microwaves, according to consumer reports. I don't know why this is happening to me but it is a concern. I can't heat my lock and lock either. I love lock and lock but use for storing fresh foods and freezing. I just can't microwave plastic even if I set the micro to a lower level. I can't wash in my dishwasher either cause I get a white coating and am forced to hand wash.
There are so many, many ways to use these....like other things the more you use them the more ways you find to use them....bright and handy....I was on the fence for quite awhile for these but very glad that I bought them. If not for yourself they are a great gift.
LOVE THIS SOUP BOWL/CUP
This cup/bowl is so handy. I can open a can of soup, heat it (microwave), eat (drink) what I want, put lid back on and it's ready for the "finish" or next time. So convenient. Love it. I gave 3 of them to others and I will be buying more of these nice bowls/cups.
Thank you again to Chef Tony for another nice item. Thanks to QVC, also!!!
tried the egg and cheese grits posted by one of your customer ,turned out great ,did not spray no sticking ,do not understand negative reviews, these systema bowls work great ,even my husband love them to heat his soup and did not have problems with the bowl, thanks for bringing this product to us
Don't like that they don't stack/nest inside each other. Got the new Lock & Lock ones that do! First time I used these in the microwave, with canned, light chicken noodle soup, it developed that flaked-ring around the inside top! Ruined for me. I tend to not use plastic in the microwave anyhow, but they said it wouldn't damage. Wrong. It was NOT a high fat soup. I think Temptations needs a 22 oz. one (best for microwave use) w/ Lock & Lock style lid: best of both worlds combined!
Love my Sistema Soup Mug for Grits & Eggs.
This is really a great little mug. In the mornings I make my grits and egg by pouring 3/4 cup of water into my mug and adding 1/4 cup of 5 minute grits, a pinch of salt and a pat of butter. Microwave for 1.5 minutes, then add 1 egg and 1 slice of American cheese. Microwave for 1.5 minutes more, stir and eat. The locking lid and vent prevents boil overs and the grist and egg cooks perfectly with the melted cheese.
Leaks like a sieve!
When I took soup to work in it the first time, it leaked all over my tote bag. All the seals were latched and aligned so it's just a bad design. They look great and work in the microwave, but don't try to "travel" with it with anything liquid, you'll be sorry.
Use These for Everything
I absolutely love these and the smaller version as well. I use them for everything from storage to micro cooking. The handle and the vent are very useful. The tops always click on neatly without any of the stretching issues that some other containers of this sort have. Want more products from this line.
I bought this set for my husband and son at Christmas, to take in their lunches for work. I'm back now buying purple for my daughter because she was jealous of the great bowls her brother has for taking food for lunch in. They all love these and would highly recommend them!
