Sistema 2.75 Quart Microwave Multicooker
2.75 qts but approx 6"x6"
I have to admit I'm a sucker for anything Chef Tony demonstrates, but I'd bought the Sistema before and been pleased, so what the heck?
When I opened the box, I was shocked that it was so small. However, it's just the right size for making polenta or basmati rice for four in the microwave. Since I make each of these starches weekly, this was an excellent purchase for me. Love it!
Worst Purchase Ever From QVC
SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!
This was by far the worst purchase I have ever made! It melted in my microwave the very first time I used it to steam broccoli!
No directions or information for use and cleaning included!! There was green plastic all over my microwave... Not easy to clean off!
Made rice yesterday following another reviewers advice using the 2-1 ratio and it was he BEST rice I ever made! thank you QVC and Sistema ! one of my best purchases ever!
I have used this item 3-4 times now with great results except the one time I tried putting in more rice than recommended. Other than that it has been fantastic!
This makes great rice, better than my two electric rice cookers (one very expensive). I'd give it 5 stars, but you'll get more info watching Chef Tony than from the instruction manual. It also overflows a little; I thought about returning it but the rice is so perfect it's worth the mess. I can't part with it. I'll try adjusting the cooking time & setting people have suggested to see if that helps.
OMG! I love this thing!
I love this cooker! I made rice in it the first time I used it. Minute rice came out perfect. Then made jasmine rice, again, came out perfect! No gumminess, no sticking to the bottom of the pot. I made the fresh green beans recipe from the little booklet - they came out perfect! I then stored half a batch of leftover mac and cheese in it and reheated it the next night for our dinner. I added a little water, covered and wallah...fresh mac and cheese that is NOT dried out! I just made the sausage and peppers from the recipe booklet in it!!! YUMMY! It was a super quick weeknight dinner that my husband devoured and said I need to make again. MY SUGGESTION QVC: PLEASE HAVE CHEF TONY OR DAVID DO A SISTEMA COOKBOOK! PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! I love this thing and want to use it more.
Best microwave cooker
I love this!!! Not only is it good for rice, white and brown, it is great for quinoa. It could use a better instruction booklet, but the basic instructions worked fine. I am buying one for my grandaughters as well. It''s great for a single person. Your rice or quinoa is ready when your quick entree is ready.
I love it and use it all the time. I always err to a lower time setting, then add more time if I need it. I have learned this works best with this type of cookware as it really does cook very quickly. Even my husband likes it. I have been recovering from knee surgery so he has been doing the cooking and finds these very quick and easy to make good meals in. I have the cups and the square set also. I am considering the soup bowls because I just find this line so user friendly. Keep them coming QVC.
NO INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED
I purchased this to make rice and it boiled over and made a mess. There were no instructions on how to use this product and how to assemble it. I had to get on the website to print out an instruction sheet. This is odd that Q.V.C. would allow this to be sold without proper instructions. I will try to cook rice again, I guess by "trial and error".
BOILED OVER IN MICROWAVE
Good thing I have a Glass turntable in my microwave or I would have had a bigger mess to clean up. In very fine print the little recipe pamphlet states: These recipes were prepared in a 950 Watt microwave. So after reading that and reading some QVC customer reviews saying to make adjustments if your microwave has a higher wattage. Mine is 1,000 watts, therefore I adjusted the cooking time. Guess what, it still boiled over. Since my main reason for purchasing was to cook small batches of rice quickly, this is a disappointment. I was cooking rice when it boiled over. Guess I'll go back to my Emeril by T-Fal electric rice cooker that I love but the smallest amount of rice you can cook in it is 2-cups This is not a value for me to keep, just to cook veggies since I can steam them in any one of my ceramic bakeware or bowls with a vented microwave cover for food. I so wanted to keep this to cook small amounts of rice ( 1-cup). That's all I had in this cooker and it still boiled over. Sorry to say I'm returning it.
P.S. One plus for this cooker. It cleaned up easy and quickly after boiling over.
I have never made regular rice before. I always used minute rice. I followed the simple instructions that were included and I was amazed how absolutely perfect the rice came out.. I will continue to tell everyone what a perfect purchase this was. As always from QVC.
Not enough instructions
I was really looking forward to using this cooker but once rec'd there were only a few cooking ideas/ suggestions included. Most of them were ones that I would not prepare so no real help there. Not enough suggestions/ instructions.
I have returned item to QVC
