LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!! If I could give this 10 stars I would. Growing up in South Carolina, I am used to hickory smoked pulled-pork BBQ w/ vinegar-pepper sauce. When I moved to Ohio 8 years ago, I missed that style of BBQ. I worked for 7 years developing my own vinegar-pepper mop sauce and would make my pulled pork in my pressure cooker, but something was missing -- the smoke. This is a fantastic, easy to use, smoker and the remote control feature is the bomb. I have smoked both pork butt and whole chicken in my Masterbuilt using my mop sauce and have declared myself the only source of decent barbecue in NE Ohio (but I may be a bit biased - LOL). Seriously, everyone I shared with has begged to be invited back and commented on the lovely smokey flavor and juiciness of the meat. Not having to worry about adding charcoal or checking a propane tank makes this a breeze to use. Highly recommend!!
I bought this for my husband and he loves it! He has used it 3 times in the last week since it was delivered. The remote control that shows temp and meat temp is so convenient. He refills wood chips every 3-4 hrs. You can pretty much start your meat in the morning and go about your day with minimal maintenance. The meat turns out wonderful!
Good Little Smoker
Bought this unit about 3 months ago. Had one that was not digital. Boy what a mistake. This unit with the setting and meat probe you can't go wrong. Load it up and set it and forget about it. Have cooked ribs, pork shoulder, chicken, salmon, you name it. Once you get your temps dialed in you'll love it. I thought the window would smoke over but hasn't yet. Being able to load the chips while your cooking is a plus. Built good. I can't really say anything bad. Other than it will put the weight on you.
I purchased this smoker about one month ago and have used it three times. I smoked a chicken, pork shoulder and sausage. The pork shoulder and sausage came out great. However, the chicken skin was like rubber, but chicken had a great smoke flavor. When using the smoker, smoke came from the window area and also dripped steam, so I called Masterbuilt in early August and the rep said that was not normal and they would order me a new door. However, I have not heard from them since. Had I known the door was defective, I would have rather had the Masterbuilt without the window. Nonetheless, I called Masterbuilt twice and each time both rep's were very polite. One rep also sent me a cooking chart and recipes to get me started. If the door was not defective my overall rating would be 5 stars.
