Shark Navigator Lift-Away Upright Vacuum
I had a friend with an account with QVC order me the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Upright Vacuum, sort of lavender in color. I went to her house, paid her the about $150 and went home to use it right away. At first, I was fascinated and a little pleased at its ease. I then gave my upright Bissell, that worked well and was bagless, to Goodwill. I have to use the Shark daily due to cat hair. I have a small apartment and I do not move the furniture around but do try to use the little Shark brush to vacuum the cat hair off of the furniture. The only place to attach the brush is when you pull the suction Extension Wand off where indicated. Well, 9 times our of ten the vacuum falls over because the wand does not extend. I feel there should have been an extension wand included as most vacuum cleaners have. Also, the vacuum falls on the fall very often due to not being balanced well.
My friend that purchased it for me has had her Shark, the same exact one, and it no longer has suction when she uses it on the hardwood floor. That is really odd.
Recently I went to Big Lots to get some small items and in their vacuum department I found the exact same Shark, only it showed it was a Reconditioned Vacuum. That tells me there are many problems with the Shark.
I am on a limited, very limited, income and would I could never afford to purchase this vacuum again. I know now that it will not last very long and am sorry I gave my Bissell away. I will say that I like the way the Shark rotates and lifts off. I just can't lift it off to vacuum dusty walls and have no stairs since I am in an apartment. My age is 70 so vacuuming is very difficult for me anyway.
I hope at lease this Shark will last longer that a year since that is the warrantee period.
Thank you. LIAH
I PURCHASED THIS VACUUM AND IT LOST SUCTION A MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT IT. I CONTACTED SHARK WHOM HAD ME TROUBLESHOOT IT WITH NO LUCK. I SPENT 80.00 ON A NEW ONE FROM THEM TO ONLY HAVE IT DO THE EXACT SAME THING THE FIRST ONE DID!!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!
Vacuum falls apart after less then a year
When I got this vacuum I was initially satisfied with how well it cleaned my floors along with being lightweight & easy to maneuver. But, after about 9 months (& using the vacuum 2-3 times a week) I noticed that the hose had a crack. When I called the manufacturer to buy a replacement I was told my only option was to buy a new vacuum from them for a reduced price (I think it was around $120.00). Since all I wanted was the replacement hose I declined & taped the crack in the hose with duct tape. Within 2 months of the initial crack in the house other cracks appeared & basically both hoses on it are almost completely wrapped with duct tape to cover all the cracks in the folds of the hoses.
A few months ago I was given a Dyson & I was so glad I hadn't purchase the replacement vacuum since the Dyson picked up so much more dirt/pet hair then the Shark.
If you need a vacuum for light use or for a small area (I was using mine to vacuum approx 2000 sq ft of carpet & 1,500 hardwood) then this might be a good option. But, for our needs I learned you definitely get what you pay for!
Best Purchase EVER
I live in senior housing, and have a small living room. I vacuumed yesterday, and my Shark came today. I put it together, (easy) and ran the sweeper again in the living room only.
OMGosh! The dust bin was jam packed full. I was astonished at the amount of filth I had been living in. The Shark practically runs itself, kinda like a self-propelled lawnmower. It actually almost pulls itself along. I'm so proud of it that I almost feel like displaying it in the living room! Happy, happy, happy dance! Thank you QVC!
In love with this vacuum
LOL yes, I love this vacuum. Picks up dirt and dog hair so well. I actually enjoy vacuuming with this.
I bought this for one of my best friends for christmas and she loves it! Previously she had been a tru blue dyson customer but said the shark out performs the dyson in several ways. I own the shark and love it too. Easy to assemble, light - no cons about this vacuum. Perfect gift for moms and dads!
Just received-could not wait to use-great power-Did not know I had that much "dirt" and "dust" in my carpet-can not wait until I use it thru the entire house- very pleased with this vac-
Don't waste your money on a Dyson
I bought my Shark about 2 months ago .I also have a Dyson I purchased from QVC also.the Dyson was 4 times the price of the Shark. The Shark is far and away the better vacuum .The Dyson is in the back of the closet and thats where it stays .Thake my advice and BUY THE SHARK
I knew my old vacuum wasn't working as good as it used to, but when I got my new Shark and used it I couldn't believe the difference! My old one never even worked this good when it was new.
I had one room that has always been a problem. I figured it was the type of carpet it was. I had never have been able to get everything picked up when I vacuumed. I often would go behind with a lint roller to pick up what my vacuum missed. Not with the Shark, it picked up everything. I also used it on my wood floors and it did a great job on them too.
Buy this vacuum, you won't be disappointed.

I bought this vacuum because I read the excellent reviews about picking up pet hair. This thing did NOT disappoint!!! I couldn't be happier with the suction on it. It was easy to assemble, it is light weight and works magic on my carpets. Thank you!!
Easy to Use! Gets all the dirt!
Very happy with how easy this vacuum is to use. It maneuvers well & picks up all the cat litter my cats throw out of the box. Canister is extremely easy to pull out, empty, & reinstall. Only downside is that it is rather light, which unfortunately means I knock it over now & then.
Light, powerful, great suction
After routinely replacing vacuums every 1-2 years for most of my adult life, I decided to invest in a Shark at the recommendation of several friends. I received it quickly, and for the last year, this vacuum has been amazing. It appears small, but it is easy to maneuver, works great for stairs and hard to reach areas. The detachable nozzle is a breeze with baseboards, dust bunnies on the ceilings, and all those other nooks and crannies. The bare floor feature is a nice reprieve from sweeping, and it does not kick up the dirt and fling it across the bare flooring. The filters are a breeze to remove and wash in the sink, and the canister is simple to dump, even my young children can do this. I can carry it upstairs and not break my back. The cord is a great length, and the hoses are virtually clog proof.
The only complaints I have: the unit is slightly top heavy, so it tips over every once in a while, especially on the steps. And, after 13 months of ownership, the lower unit that houses the roller became louder and angry sounding. This did not affect the performance in any way, but I called customer service and they are shipping me a new lower unit so that I can once again enjoy the quietness of this great machine. I love it, will never go back, and will continue to brag this vacuum up to anyone who asks. Thanks for a great product!
