Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best vacuum on the market! I will forever own a shark vacuum! This vacuum is not only great at cleaning, but with the flex feature, it fits places that other vacuum’s do not. It is super lightweight and with the two batteries I am able to do everything I need to do!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Shark Duoflex Cordless Vacuum I normally don't write reviews but after researching for a vacuum and settling on the Shark, I wanted to give a good report on our experience with the unit. We purchased the Dyson Absolute 7 and charged it up to find it did not hold up to the time it states as it ran out of power halfway through the house twice. I was not happy. We have tile and area rugs. So we returned the unit which was on sale and with the coupons we had purchased the Dyson for 200.00 and felt this was a good deal, but sad to say very disappointed. I searched out other comments on the Shark and we decided on the shark duoflex. It was a little bit more than the Dyson, but what attracted me was the two batteries. We have had two Kenmore corded bag type vacuums forever and after 30 years of buying bags and parts, we decided to try cordless. The benefits of the shark on the tile is awesome. The head swivels and makes it very easy to vacuum. It picks up the slightest amount of dust and grit which the dogs bring in from time to time. It sucks up anything near the power head as it passes by. We vacuum almost every day since we have three Chows in the house. Although the collection canister is a bit small, its enough to realize the amount of dirt and debris collected in just one area. Not a fan of the brush attachments, the bristles are very soft to the touch and longer than most. I find it deters on the suction of the vacuum if you put it on the end of the wand in the floor mode. However, if you place the crevis tool directly to the power unit, you will find plenty of suction. I find that cleaning the powerhead unit is very easy and having the little lights is nice when vacuuming under the beds or hutches. Have you ever vacuumed under the bed or dresser and something metallic clangs up the hose and your wondering what was that? So you go and cut the bag open to find an earring or something of value. Here you just remove the wand, open the collection canister and empty it out in the sink. Bingo! I really like the ability to push a button and have the wand fold to reach under tables or other items that would normally require you to bend down and adjust in order to get under them to vacuum. CARPETS, I haven't figured out the best way to use this on OUR carpets. We have a long pile type carpet and the unit drowns out, but it does a 3 out 5 star job as you can hear it picking up stuff and of course when you empty the canister it has collected the pet hair and so on. The Kenmore power unit struggles but does a better job. The Shark did pick up the dog hair in the carpet pretty good. We also had some construction work done in our home with new Impact sliders and there was debris inside the slider rails. So I decided to put the shark through its pace, on the same battery charge that I had just vacuumed the house with. I removed the wand and put on the crevis tool directly to the housing unit and put it on max, I was able to clean out all three sliders of sheetrock debris and pieces of concrete without losing the charge and the suction was very good. Keeping in mind that the sliders are in different rooms, I didn't have to plug in anywhere or drag our Kenmore from room to room. That alone was awesome. If this unit had the suction of a corded unit and could do carpets like a corded unit, this would be the 5+ best investment anyone could make. I recently ordered the docking station and third battery. I've been vacuuming since I was a kid, LOL! Not the most desirable chore when you live in a two-story going up and down stairs lugging a vacuum. So for the sake of convenience, speed, and a quality cleaning job, this is a great investment as is. I've only had to use the second battery once so far. So having the docking station and a third battery may be overkill but nice to have. So I've rated it a 4 out of 5 only because of the powerhead on carpets. If you using this unit on tile and hard floors only, this would be a 5 star all day long. So far we have invested 399.00 with the third battery and docking station which is substantially less than a Dyson Absolute 10 pet cordless. Additionally, the batteries are removable on the the Shark where the Dyson unit has to be plugged in as a complete unit with no other source of power to complete your task and they claim 60 minutes on a normal setting and 20-30 minutes on max. So having the extra batteries and being able to swap out batteries as you go is certainly a major plus. Hope this helps in making your decision.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Machine So easy to use! So light and versatile. Would recommend that a second battery charger be included with the second battery, but otherwise very happy with purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from My first cordless Upon rec the item, I read the instructions and charged the battery. According to the instructions "choosing a suction setting" there are 2 settings, extend runtime and Max power. Obviously the max power is for heavy duty cleaning and will drain the battery faster. The extend time is for everyday cleaning. There is a note that says for deep carpet cleaning per ASTM F608, use carpet and Max Power setting. The battery lasted about 10 mins using Max power and didn't even finish the living room carpet. I put the battery on the charger, but took about 30 mins for the battery to cool down enough to take a charge, then about 2+ hrs to charge. While I like the vac and love it bring cordless, you absolutely need 2 batteries min to do a home with approx 2k SF of carpeting and don't expect it will all get done in one day. It was great on bare floors and scatter rugs, especially picking up litter. I am undecided if I will keep or return. The vac is great, it's the battery life that I'm having an issue with at the moment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love The Portability I love my traditional Shark vacuum but having degenerative disc disease in my lower spine and arthritis in my knees it has become difficult to carry up the stairs. This vacuum is much lighter and not having to worry about a cord is fantastic. I have carpet, wood, and area rugs and I can easily move from one to the other with a touch of a button.
