V29155 - Set of 2 Solar Powered LED Gutter Lights
Great little light
I got two sets of the solar lights in 2010. It's now January 2013, and they are still going strong. I live in the country, no street lights. I put them on each gate, at the latch. They light up the ground so I can always see to get in and out. Just love them, would like more.
This was such a wonderful idea. We have a waterway behind our house and living in FL that spells alligators. I got 2 sets of 2, a total of 4 lights and we hung them on the gutter. For a few months they were on every night and I felt safer taking my dog out. One night 2 did not come on. I waited a few days and they stayed off. We took down the 2 non functioning lights and found that due to poor construction these 2 lights had rusted and were no longer able to work. Good Idea but a 50% success rate is not worth my money. Hike up your quality control QVC.
Work well enough
I purchased 3 sets & mounted them on the gutter above my balcony overhang. Obviously using 6 instead of 2, more light is available. They snap right on the lip of the gutter without having to use the tightening screws. They light every night and for the price, I'm satisfied. They add enough light to illuminate the balcony & that was what I expected. I would certainly never expect two solar lights to replace an electrical light.....if you do, you may be disappointed.
I'm not going to send these back but they're really pretty useless. My husband couldn't attach them to the gutters as the gutter lip was too wide, so they're attached precariously to a thin piece of aluminum near the gutter. We get many hours of direct Florida sun, but it produces a very dim light. I'll try to hunt for a lower spot to use them but they did not work for the reason I ordered them. The people that rave about them must have bought several and use them close together.
Just Enough Light
We have had these just over a month, actually mounted to an outdoor swing, and made a small bracket to mount to a tree. We have a large yard, this gave us just enough light to move around after dark. Plus, they are still lit at 5:30 a.m. after being on all night. Not going to produce an abundant amount of light, just enough to give you some light in dark areas. Also, if you have white near these lights it will reflect and actually give you more brightness. Work great for our use.
I really like these new lights. I have them on my front door which is normally very dark at night. I tried one at first but did not seem enough so I moved the second one in place and now it lights the whole doorway. It is amazing how long they run even when it has been cloudy, much longer than my other solar lights. Now I don’t have to keep my outside light on.
Not Worth It!!
These are advertised as "Gutter Lights." I wouldn't recommend putting them up that high. You won't see the light. I placed them on the middle part of my windows, close to the ground, on the wrought iron so as to project light on my flower bed. Sorry, but you can't see but a very dim beam, and you have to get right up to it to see the dim light. Not a good buy!!
Best Energy Saver
It's great to have all the lighting without an electric bill!
They are GREAT party lights - we hang them in our trees in our yard!
They come 2 in a pack - the key is to use both together for the best lighting!!!
When our power went out, we removed the hanger clip and used it for lighting inside.
Now I keep one in my car for safety use! In addition to lighting our doorway, I've put them on the side of my house as well as on our fence! I also had someone tell me they use them to light up outdoor restroom facilities. Great purchase - I highly recommend these - the uses are endless!!!
WHAT A GREAT IDEA
I BOUGHT 3 SETS OF THESE LIGHTS AND THEY WORK GREAT. THEY WERE NOT HARD TO PUT UP AND THEY BURN FROM SUNSET TO SUNRISE.
I like them ( DIANA from Medina OH )
I like these lights they r not really bright , but they look good spaced far enough apart on my barn gutters to just look good ! i bought 2 sets and they look just like i thought they would ( nice) thinking of buying 2 more sets !!
Easily attached to gutters, but do not give off much light. I was hoping to add some light to dim corners of my house, but one light is insufficient. I even took off the circular rings (which is stated on the instructions as an option). They probably work better if they are located nearer to the ground and not the gutters as advertised.
OK FOR JUST A LITTLE BIT OF LIGHT
These do work as promised. If you are looking for a small spot light this is
what you will get. It does not project a large circle of light. It is a soft light not
blinding bright. They are easy to attach to your gutters all by hand, no tools
are needed. I only have one up but think 2 will be better to light the sidewalk
to the front door just a bit more. If you only need a little light for safety reasons
to find a path or step these will be fine.
