I was really looking forward to growing my own herbs. I got the Aerogarden and the only herbs that sprouted were the basil. I then ordered the salad greens and only I sprouted and died a few days later. I contacted customer service and I was told I had to return the 2 boxes. I unfortunately threw out the pods that were not growing. I guess that will be a loss. You take a chance in buying this item. I would not recommend this item.

I decided to try one more time. The pods did not sprout in the time said. Most didn't and when they did they just died. The little sprout did not work as stated. Idid every thing I was told. I would send all back if I could. Big price for nothing.

Love my Aerogarden! It is wonderful having fresh herbs in my kitchen, Having fresh herbs and veggiee all year round without pesticides is wonderful. Grows seemlessly.

My daughter has tried to grow herbs for years without success but with this system she is now growing tomatoes, and herbs with no trouble. It is delightful to see and we have already used the herbs in our homemade dishes ! Can't wait to try the tomatoes. This is so easy and quiet amazing. We highly recommend it to people who don't have green thumbs ! Will order more packs soon.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Dasi Aerogarden lettuce: great growth, slightly bitter
Two Aerogardens were presents ("Santa's" gift) for me and two of my sisters as well this Christmas. My teen daughters and little one (preschooler) planted them on January 2, 2016. I bought these lettuce packs to go along with the tomatoes that came with the Aerogarden unit. All tomatoes & lettuce sprouted within three-four days with the exception of the Parris island lettuce. After eight days I was concerned about not only that pod but about the other lettuce also which looked...well in trouble. I live in Hawaii and was concerned because I know lettuce is a cold weather plant and wondered if it was simply too warm for them. Reading the reviews a poster suggested giving the company a call with any problems rather than asking QVC. I'm so glad I did!
They suggested adding an ice cube to the reservoir so I added one daily. Just one day later the Parris island sprouted and the other two lettuce doubled in size as if to thank me. Now I add 1-2 cubes to the fill chamber nightly (since the roots fill the main reservoir now and I don't want to shock them). All plants are thriving and my tomatoes are in bloom. The Parris island lettuce even caught up to the other two in size!
I definitely recommend these units as gifts for anyone—family, friends, colleagues, parents, grandparents, neighbors, teens, even younger children (with supervision of course), no "green thumb" necessary. It would also be a wonderful gift if you know an avid gardener who can't get out due to health issues or illness. It's a pleasure to watch them grow.
A bit of advice: please call Aerogarden if you have any issues. The representative was friendly and helpful. I'll be calling back to check on the reasons for the bitterness because black seeded Simpson was sweet (similar to iceberg) the first time I tasted it but was slightly bitter until rinsed. Deer tongue was also bitter—more so than the Simpson but it seems like that's the way it supposed to be. The jury is still out on how much I like the flavors of each so five stars for the growth rate and ease of use minus one for the bitterness.
All pictures are of the plants that were planted by my children on January 2, 2016 in our new Aerogardens. The Simpson lettuce looks smaller because it was harvested for the first time about one week ago however originally it was the largest of the three. My husband actually harvested a few leaves from all three this morning to take for lunch. He seems to like the taste of the other lettuce :).
QVC please offer more of the plants (mega tomatoes, golden tomatoes, peppers) for a greater variety....
Rated 1 out of 5 by LadyNSon Very dissapointed
I purchased this Aerogarden set of 2 3pod Seed Kit at the same time I order my Aerogarden; when they arrived, the plant food bottles has emptied out inside the box and the outside of the box was covered with a grainy/sandy texture. I called QVC's customer service and requested an exchange. The second set arrived in perfect condition. I followed the instructions on the Aerogarden and started to grow the pods. The Parris Island Lettuce never bloomed, after waiting for a month I replaced it using the pod from the second kit, it still never bloomed. The Black Seeded Simpson bloomed several times, but the plant looked weak and the leaves were as if they were wilted. The best out of the entire kit was the Deer Tongue which grew strong and I was able to enjoy it in a salad.

I am reluctantly recordering because I have an investment in 2 units with no produce. I have followed instructions as closely as I can but they either don't sprout or it is so poor and they eventually die. I will try one more time but I see these beautiful plants on TV and wonder what I am missing. Any suggestions? I apparently not the only one after reading the reviews. I can lose the price if the plants but the 2 units are a loss.
Rated 4 out of 5 by GaelicQueen fun with hydroponics
I have had a fleeting interest in Hydroponics and Aeroponics since I saw the large scale set up in 1982 at Disney World Orlando. That combined with watching a lot of YouTube videos and reading a lot of articles on it yet I missed any actual experience in growing hydroponically due to living in a apartment where I did not feel able to experiment with this do to space. This product eliminated the space/light concern and allowed me to take a baby step into actively doing hydroponics. My tomato plants (2) are beginning to bloom and i have been harvesting parsley (1 plant) . My friend got the unit and first started all the herbs and when there were strong plants (in a month or so) she transplanted them into containers to keep in her backyard. Now she has purchased a larger unit from miracle-gro online sale to grow additional different herbs and gave me the small 3 hole model as my Christmas gift with addition grow pots and media inserts so I can grow with my own seeds. So I got some Sweet Bay Laurel tree seeds (they are around a dollar a piece) and have sprouted 3 (out of 7 they sent--4 are saved for latter). since both of us like using bay leaves in cooking and the tree can be grown in a container (it looks real nice too on a deck). Hopefully my friend will not see this and I will be able to surprise her later with a small transplanted bay tree. If all the bay tree seeds do sprout may may advertise them on eBay or etc for local pickup would that not be a hoot!. After this I plan on growing lavender in one of the units and herbs in the other and I am putting them on the two end tables next to the couch. The lavender will be a great air freshener, also herb for cooking and looks great.
