Set of 2 Magic Mesh Hands Free Screen Door
Works for us!
I have had these up since last spring, and I truly did not expect them to last the season, as they seemed flimsy at first glance, but so far, they are still holding up. Installation was pretty simple, but I found the velcro to be basically useless, and used the thumb tacks in my wood door frame to hold the panels. I have one on our sliding door at the house, and one up on our cottage slider at the lake. The one at the lake, thus far, holding up a bit better, likely due to being used on a less than daily basis. The one at the house, is staring to tear and fray along the bottom, and I will probably end up replacing it in the spring with a new one. We like being able to leave the door open in nice weather, allowing our dog to go in and out as he pleases. Unless someone comes up with a better mousetrap, I will likely purchase again.
They Don't Work On All Doors!
It would be nice if it would fit on standard size doors or at least it won't fit ours ....
Tell me Why...
Tell me why this great idea would not work! I loved the idea. I work long hours, so my dog could get in and out when she wanted to. It worked for a while, but then the ripping of the netting came apart. My dog's leg got tangled into the ripped part. When it was up for a lengthy time, the magnets do not clasp back., came home one time, and the screen was wide opened for mosquitos, flies, wasps and any other flying insect. Alol flying around in my house! This would have been a great idea... but I think more thought of durability should have been put in. If discovered again, and improved better, I will purchase another one.It was a nice price, so I tried it, but I don't feel bad, because two was sent. I would have felt bad if I had only received ONE...
did not do what it says. little breeze flys open.bottom lace fell off. would not recommend.
Wish I could give it a zero
This just doesn't work. Magnets don't match up correctly, it comes apart too easily and is just basically worthless. Don't waste your money.
Not good item
I bought this item husband just put it up and it ripped, doesn't stay together pulls the paint off, wish i had read the review.it seems like its rotten just rips
I had high hopes for this but wouldn't stay up on my door. Kept putting back up but gave up and sent it back. Nice idea but didn't work.
only a 1?
I hammered my husband to get these and what a dissapointment! They were too long and didn't close correctly. within 2 hours, they were falling, stickies attached, and when they weren't falling, the magnets wouldn't hold together. Had high hopes not to buy a special order screen door this year but out of luck! Not worth the shipping to send it back.
These are just OK
I read the reviews before purchasing and decided to give them a try anyway. When I put them up with the velcro they came down within the hour. I used the tacks that come with them and that seems to be holding. They are not square, so you really have to work with them to fit a door that actually is. I bought these for a basement door that I use daily but is an odd size and therefore is difficult to find a screen door for it. They WILL NOT keep out everything, but they do help keep the majority of flying insects out. They make it difficult to go in and out when you have large packages because they open from the center but are "unforgiving" on both sides. I said I would recommend to a friend only with full disclosure of the drawbacks to this product. They are cheaply made, but if your expectations are low you won't be disappointed. I'm within my 30 days and still undecided as to whether I'll return or not.
I was really looking forward to this item, because a standard screen door does not work for my door.....This item was a big disappointment, not only did the magnets not go back together unless they were in just the right spot. A little wind and it blew open.
The second time i used it, it fell apart.
Great idea, bad item.
Great for pets
I have 2 shihtzus and a chihuahua and this product works great for them. Don't have to be opening the door all the time for them to go out on back porch. You have to make sure the screens are not too far apart. We also used the tacks on the door frame. For 2 sets I think its worth the money.
good idea BUT
the magnets don't stick to each other....a slight breeze blew the screens apart. The binding frayed at the top and the velcro didn't stick to the edges. I really wanted this to work. Save your money, this isn't worth the trouble to send it back.
