Sarah Potempa BEACHWAVER Rotating Curling Iron, Clips & Comb
Great idea, but didn't work well with my hair. Left/Right and Go button to spin are in an awkward position that get hit accidentally while trying to use the product. Going back. Thankful for QVC's return policy.
Finally got the right hair tool.
This is a great product though you do need to watch the video for instructions. I have long curly hair but since they are natural, they are not "organized". I am not a hair genius or spend a lot of time by a mirror trying to look good. With this product I can look good in a few minutes and it lasts. It makes me feel good that I can have my hair the way I want without having to go to the hair stylist. I am so glad I bought it. It would be great if it was 110V-240V for traveling!
Waves, waves, waves and more waves!
I use 2 hair styling products on a regular basis that I absolutely love and this is one of them (the other is Calista Tools Set of 12 Ion Hot Rollers). I have fine hair, straight on top, wavy underneath. To look at me, you would think I have straight hair. My hair has never been able to hold a curl, no matter what product or method I used, even perms. Let's go to the wavy underside of my hair that no one sees. This part gets tangled and dried out very easily, causing it to break. Hair madness to say the least that caused me to always feel not as confident about my appearance. This product is outstanding. My hair gets these beautiful soft, relaxed waves that last throughout the day. It hasn't damage my hair the way other products have. My hair isn't dry or frizzy or dull. It doesn't break. I can brush through my hair, too, and the waves still hold. My hair really does get those kick back beach waves that I could only get after swimming in the ocean but then the salt water would get my hair all dried out afterward. Get this and try it. It really is great. So quick and easy. 10 minutes tops to do my long hair which is to the middle of my back. You don't burn yourself either since it has that automatic curl twirl button press. I find it fun to press. I haven't used any mousse or styling products with this either. After doing your hair, flip your hair over and take your fingers to fluff it up and work through the curls, then flip your hair back like a star and you're ready to go! Va Va Va Voom!
Don't Buy This
Tried and tried but all it did was tangle and twist my hair. Returned.
Wave does not stay
I was super excited to try this product. Fairly easy to use, although, I do agree with some about the button location. I often hit the power button by accident. While it makes quick work of curling my shoulder-length hair, the curl when just using my fingers to comb through, frizz out my hair. It leaves my hair limp and dry looking. I honestly can use my regular 1" barrel and have lots of body and curl that lasts all day. I feel the barrel is too skinny. Too expensive to settle for just-ok.
I have traditional curling irons and I have a clipless curling iron that requires wearing a glove. I prefer to use this iron. It's easy to use and curls hair quickly. I've used mine twice now and I think it's pretty easy to get the hang of. I wish it was less expensive and came in a larger barrel size. Other than that, it's a great tool!
Best tool- Best results
This might possibly be the best styling tool with the best result. For someone who has naturally curly hair, always blowing it out straight, this tool has given me the option to have that natural, loose, beach wave look- the curls I dream of, but unfortunately never had- until now!
I agree with the other reviews it does take a little practice with the buttons but once you master it, you are on your way to professional looking waves. I get compliments every time I style my hair with this. I've recommended it to all of my friends!
I agree with other reviewers in that the hair clip is just too small and hair falls out when the barrel starts to turn. The concept is great -- but the device needs many adjustments to warrant a price like this. It is only a glorified curling iron! And a average one at that.
Needs a full hair clip on the curl barrel!
Couldn't wait to use this product, but unfortunately after numerous attempts of curling my long hair, I found it very cumbersome to use. It would help if the hair clip was full barrel as my hair kept falling out of it. I like to curl my hair starting at the end of the hair shaft, rolling it to the scalp, to get a full curl. I also had a tendency to sometimes get my hair curled around the attached curler stand when the barrel was rotating.
I don't know if it's just me, but I found the left and right buttons is far too close to the opening and shutting of the hair clip. I say this because after rolling my hair on the barrel I would then take my finger off the button to depress the hair clip ( to release the hair) I would instead accidentally hit the rotating button again, bringing the hot barrel next to my scalp. If the few things I mentioned could be corrected, I would be in line to buy this product. Sadly I have sent this one back.
Works Great For Me!
I used to use a curling iron daily. I have hair that reaches between my shoulder blades and the curls would be nearly flat within an hour. Using the beachwaver has changed that. I get so many compliments on my hair now. That wavy look lasts me ALL day and it needs just a little touch up the next morning. Even on a windy day it holds up! Occasionally I hit the "go" button when I'm trying to grip the iron to get my hair in the clip. It can be a nuisance, but the outcome is fantastic. It takes me about 10 minutes or so, which is about what it took me with a regular curling iron.
Had such high hopes for this iron, but, sadly it was kinda "huge" and heavy, you had to find the buttons with your fingertips and their position was akward!........guess i'm not that coordinated! Sadly had to send back!
Nice, but design needs some work
When I first got this home, I tried it on one strand of hair right away to see if I like it. It popped in beautifully! I went on my way happy with the purchase. When I finally got some time to really try it, I had a hard time keeping my hair in the clip on the iron. I think it needs to be a little longer, anyway, as other reviewers have commented. The clips that come with it are nice. But between the cost and what I hope will wind up being a successful learning curve, I gave it an average rating. I'm very willing to put a little time into learning, but when you spend a certain amount of money you hope/expect that it won't be quite this long. So . . . nice concept but needs some work.
