Rowenta Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 1725 Watt Steam Iron
Not Crazy About This Iron
I prefer my other Rowenta. I iron with steam and aside from the fact that you can't see when you need to add water, it doesn't hold enough to get me through 3 shirts. It's lighter and seems to slide across the fabric a little easier but I have switched back to my old Rowenta. Unless I misheard, this was supposed to be the biggest, baddest, Rowenta made so far but I disagree. I'm sure my daughter will like it better than what she has now so it will be given to her.
Not worth the price
This iron was a disappointment. I have owned two other rowenta irons and was really impressed with them. I could understand the price because the quality control was there. When I used the iron the one time I used it, I was appalled that you could not tell how much water was in it. So I called Rowenta customer service thinking that I didn't know enough although I had read all of the info that came with the iron.Their helpful hint was to tell me how much water the capacity is and suggest that if I think that it is getting low while I am ironing I should empty the iron and refill it with required amount. NOT HELPFUL. I am returning the item because in my opinion the quality does not justify the price. I will get a new iron, but it may not be on line where I have to spend money to return it as I am doing with this one.
I like the iron but it certainly does not steam like the demonstration shows. It is much better than the one I was using so I guess I'm happy
An Iron that Works Well
I am very satisfied with my purchase of the MB Fashion Week Rowenta Iron. I have previously been using $20 irons from the drugstore and I finally decided to splurge on a good quality iron. It's a nice size, lightweight for an iron, and not bulky. I have not been disappointed with the Rowenta I ordered from QVC!
1st review ever!
This is my first review ever. I was sold on the product because of the live presentation. The iron works very well. It does runs out of water quickly because of the amount of steam it produces ( which is it's best feature). As others have stated, I cannot see how much water is in the reservoir because of the color of the housing. I guess I will have to suffer with it overflowing when I fill it or running out too quickly, because I do not want to pay for return shipping. I would not recommend this iron to anyone until Rowenta changes the color of the water reservoir.
if you have to iron, do it with style!
i am not a ironing nut, but when i do, i want an iron that does not make the chore more difficult. this iron, along with being actually attractive (!), does a great job with the steam and spray options. it is a bit heavier than most irons, but i think that is because it is made with better materials. this would make a great wedding shower gift or graduation present. or give it to your mother who is probably using one that is 30 years old!! i gave it to myself!
Iron works great and I'm happy that I bought it. My only complaint is water reservoir is very hard to read.
Happy and disappointed
Like almost every review I have read on the site I am also very disappointed in the fact that due to the dark color on the iron where you fill the water, you just can't see the level. One of the reviews spoke about seeing the water level with a flashlight and then pouring water into a measuring cup therefore enabling her to know how much water to fill. Very intelligent and I will certainly use this idea. Otherwise the iron is wonderful.
A bit disappointed
The mechanics of this iron are great; the look of the iron is great. The all purple shell of the iron is great as far as the style of the iron is concerned. That said....you can't see how much water is left in the reservoir. One would need x-ray vision to see the level. The designers of this iron were more concerned with the overall look of the iron than the practically of being able to see the water level. A narrow strip of clear plastic over the reservoir would easily solve this problem. I give the iron a "shake" to gauge how much water remains in the reservoir. The iron itself is terrific.... the design flaw regarding the water level makes it not perfect. I will keep the iron tho.
Rowenta 1725 Watt Steam Iron
This is the second Rowenta Steam Iron I have purchased from QVC. The first one stopped steaming consistently after a few weeks. Because this last purchase was the updated version, I expected it to be much better. I felt the first one might have just been the bad one in the whole production. On the presentation it was promoted as no sputter, but it does. Also, the purple color on the water chamber is so dark that I can't see the water level. As far as the overall operational, it does get the wrinkles out.
This iron is the best!! The only thing is the plastic cover where you measure the water level is opaque and makes it hard to read. However the iron performance is the best and makes your ironing time close to nothing.
love this iron
It is absolutely the best iron I have EVER bought. And it was on sale. And it was on flexpay! Better the layaway!
