Rowenta Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 1725 Watt Steam Iron
This is the best iron I have ever owned. The water capacity isn't very large so have to do lots of refills. The pointed nose and all those steam vents make ironing fun and easy. Now I look for things to iron, lol
Makes Ironing Fun!
This iron is a joy to use, steams out wrinkles in silk blouses, hubby's suits - freshens garments and I can get a sharp crease in my designer jeans - ha!. Who knew ironing could be fun as well! Very happy with this fine appliance.
love it, except
as others have mentioned I too find it impossible to see the water tank markings! Make the tanks clear. That is why I said I would NOT recommend to a friend. I would tell them to buy this brand but with a CLEAR tank. Otherwise it is a great iron.
Makes It Easier
I use to hate to iron because of the water spots my old iron would leave. This iron glides easy over everything and no water spots and its always a plus when u can steam your clothes when needed. It is everything they say it is.
Possibly the best iron Rowenta ever built. Well balanced and really puts out the steam.
I hate ironing! Hate it! However, this iron is quick and gets the job done with minimal effort on my part. I still don't like ironing, but this makes it so much easier and faster than any other iron I've ever owned. After using the Rowenta, I put my Black&Decker iron I had been using in my yard sale and said "Goodbye".
worst purchhase ever !!!!
does not hold temperature ....does not stay hot ...bottom plate scorched ,,,cant see thru water tank to ck water level...ruined a blouse ....no, I do not like it at all !!!
Great Iron, but . . .
A really good iron, well designed for almost any ironing job. BUT, and for me this is a very big BUT, you cannot see how much water is in the iron. It's easy to overflow it, or you just have to guess at how much water there is and keep the water level low. Neither is a good option for something this expensive. Someone should have noticed this defect in the manufacturing process and used a more pastel color on the tank level indicator. I have to return it, as it is too easy to ruin the iron by constant overfilling, and too time consuming to have to refill every few minutes.
This is a really good iron. It replaced my old Rowenta, and I am pleased with it. If you have an older model, that was purchased at a retail store, be advised that this is slightly larger. It won't fit on my iron holder. Also, the other reviews are correct. Because of the purple color, you can't see the water level. So you have to guess on how much water to use. It's just a little annoying; which is why I gave it only four stars. They really need to correct this with future models.
Rowenta1725 It's the Greatest Steam Iron ever!!!!!
I bought this as a gift for my son in law ,He does all his own ironing. My daughter doesn't really iron and melted a good dress on his iron and he was crushed and went out and bought a cheap 20$ one ,So for fathers day I saw this and thought it was a good gift for him and I said it was from the kids .!!!! Well he hasn't stop ravening about his greatest Iron ever and my Daughter was told she couldn't use it LOL. he works and his cloths have to be crisp white and Ironed very Happy I made great mother in law points on this one Iron Thanks Rowenta and QVC Louise from MASS.
Great iron, however
I purchased the Rowenta Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Iron after having wanted a Rowenta iron for quite awhile. When I purchased the iron the only color left of purple, which I had no problem with. The iron itself is wonderful, however, it's very difficult to see where the water level is because the purple is very dark and it's impossible to see through it. I would recommend this product, but not the purple color.
I was sorry to have to return the iron because I have been using Rowenta irons for some time. This iron was described (as other Rowentas) as not dripping. However, it dripped profusely. I tried different temperatures, but it kept soaking my clothes. Also, I did not like that no measuring cup was included, so I used one from one of my other Rowenta irons. In addition, when the water was poured into the iron, one could not see the amount of water because there was no visible measuring line. Moreover, I did not get enough burst of steam to iron several pieces, probably due to the dripping. Perhaps this iron had a manufacturing defect, but I will not re-order it to avoid another disappointment.
