Rowenta 1700W EcoIntelligence Steam Iron with 3D Soleplate
Best Iron Ever!
This iron was a great purchase. I've always wanted a Rowenta iron now I have it. It irons very well gets all wrinkles out. The steam factor is amazing and your clothes look great! No struggling to get the wrinkles out and u can get between the buttons and the sleeves very well too!!! I don't know what other people are saying that this iron is No good I think it is a great product!
Not So Great!!
I bought this iron several months ago.. love Rowena irons usually...but NOT this one!! It doesn't get the wrinkles out. You have to iron over and over the same spot. Never had to do that before. Doesn't have the great steam burst like before. It hesitates when I press the burst button. Just not up to Rowenta standards. Can't imagine THIS iron was use at Mercedes-Benz week. Very disappointed in this one.
This is my 3rd Rowenta iron and although my others still work, I wanted to try this one after seeing the demonstration. It is excellent....I love the pointed front - so easy to get around buttons and it does a professional job. I also love the fact that you can use tap water in it and not have to buy distilled water. Great choice.....I'm sold on Rowenta!
best iron ever used
the rowenta is superior it cuts my iron time 75% great iron at a great price
WORST PURCHASE EVER , WORST IRON I EVER OWNED
I PURCHASED THIS IRON THRU QVC LESS THAN 2 YRS AGO AND IT STOPPED WORKING YESTERDAY,OF COURSE, THE WARRANTY ONLY COVERED THE FIRST YEAR AND WHEN I BOUGHT IT THE PRICE WAS MORE THAN $100.00 . I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL ROWENTAS OVER THE YEARS AND THEY PERFORMED WELL BUT AFTER THIS EXPERIENCE, I DOUBT I WILL EVER BUY ANOTHER ROWENTA.
This is a fabulous iron!
I wanted to give this iron a true "test drive" before I gave my review. I love it. My mother used it, she loves it (and wants one for Christmas) My husband loves it. This is a home run. Thanks Rowenta and QVC!
However, I cannot see where the water line is, I either overfill or is not filled up enough, wish they would make the color clear,,, not dark blue. But it is a great iron, you just have to guess where the water line is, if your eyesight isn't so great.
Worst Iron I ever bought
A few months ago my iron stopped working. I needed an iron and I wanted a Rowenta. Unfortunately the my model was no longer available and neither was the replacement model I wanted. I selected this model. Sounded like a winner. Well, not for me. When I first used it I thought it was just me getting used to a different iron. Not so. I've used it over and over again and it just didn't perform up to Rowenta standards. It never got the wrinkles out and the burst of steam was not at all strong. Week after week I used the iron and week after week I complained about having to iron. Finally I said I had had enough of this iron. I don't like anything about it. I ordered another Rowenta to replace this one. I just wish I was able to send this horrible beast back for a refund. Oh by the way - it has a little toggle on the top for increasing the amount of steam and burst of steam -- the toggle is cheap and broke. I was able to fix it but it broke again. Don't waste your money.
My second one
I love this iron, this is my second Rowenta ecointeligence. I am a quilter. The steam really gives a good crisp seam. My second is used for clothes, I iron everything, It gets out wrinkles that appeared after letting the stuff sit in the dryer. Just love it.
I so trusted the Rowenta name that I finally indulged a bought a pricey iron. What a disappointment. I have been happier with much cheaper irons. While it is a very pretty iron, it leaks like crazy. Water leaks out when filling and then drips all over the clothes, with saturating spots. I actually watched it drip out of the base. Funny, this didn't start right away but several months after having. Personally, I don't get the "eco steam button" either but that might just be me! Too late to return. I feel I wasted my money. Off to purchase another iron!
I am still using my Rowenta iron I ordered years ago. It is wonderful and I know the newest ones or even better but what I like best is the retrackable cord. It is very convenient for storage. Will you make other irons with the same cord storage. I want a new iron but they don't have the cord storage. I would rate a five but because of the cord storage you rate 4 1/2
I am a huge fan of Rowenta irons. Rowenta is the only brand I will purchase. The irons offer fabulous steam settings, don't leak and makes the task of ironing easy. I recently purchased this iron (after donating my previous one to a good cause) and I have to say that this is the first iron where I believe Rowenta perhaps missed the mark. It doesn't seem to heat up as well as the others, it did leak and after only 5 months of use, the steam lever broke off and I am unable to get the steam I need for ironing. Overall, I would recommend Rowenta to anyone! But this particular model doesn't get my vote.
