Roberta's Oriental Totem Pole
I purchased this last year and it's still doing great! I only had 3 sprouts last year and I see 2 more appearing now. That's pretty good since it's indoors and doesn't require a lot of sun! I purchase another for a friend since he liked mine so much!
I saw this item being available and felt the need to prevent others from making my error in purchasing the Roberta's Oriental Totem Pole. I purchased three of this item on 01/17/13. I did exactly as instructed for all three logs. In the end, I experienced foul smelling water and sticks in the potting soil. I would never recommend this item to anyone.
A real survivor
I purchased this plant about 4 to 5 yrs ago. Its still alive and thriving. My cats chew on the ends of the leaves, and the cats are still healthy. If you have pets you have to be careful with any plants you purchase as some are toxic to animals. This plant is a good choice as you cant seem to kill it, I keep it in front of a window that gets the morning sun..It would be quite attractive if the ends of the leaves were not shredded by he catst
SO DISAPPOINTED & Sad!!!! A Dud!!! :`(
Purchased this plant and followed the directions to the "T". Even though it didn't root after 6weeks, placed it in a pot of soil per directions. STILL NOTHING... after a while it looked like a sprout was starting but nope. It was dead in the pot. Why is this plant considered ad annual by Robertas? They should replace it even within the first year. I so love the look of the plant but am afraid to take the chance on getting another one.
so glad I got this. I got laughed at when I first got it and had to keep it in water and changing it for weeks. My pet log my husband called it. After planting it took about two weeks before I saw buds coming out. I've had it about 8 months now and it has lots of leaves and is getting taller. I've actually forgotten to feed it and have just been watering it and it has been just fine. Best of all, my cats totally ignore it.
I bought this several years ago. I just love it . Mine is so large and beautiful. I keep it in my front window.
Not working well in this house!
My plant is at least 6 years old, it did well for the first year and it exactly the same now,.The leaves are few and the trunk is exactly the same size as when I recieved it. I am dissapointed in this plant.!
ot as promised
Grew this for 3 years then it started dying from inside out,way to late for refund, very disappointed in this item
Tried This Again....
I bought one a few years ago but it died over winter. I love unusual house plants with lots of green foliage so I couldn't help myself and purchased again.
It's doing fine, but while it was "waking up" during the water stage, I had seen these in the local hardware store already fully "leafed" out. Those ones had 2 and 3 planted in the same pot--a better value. I even found a little one at the grocery store for $8, so I bought that one too.
I hope this one makes it through the winter. They are very nice looking plants.
I love this plant! I bought mine 3 years ago and simply followed the directions. Mine didn't actually start sprouting until it had been planted in soil for several weeks, but once it began growing leaves they were beautiful. I have had some of the leaves turn brown but I just trim those and it doesn't seem to effect the plant. A very unusual and interesting plant.
A HUGE WASTE !!
Purchased this in April, 2013. Followed directions to a tee! I changed water 1-2 times a week.(it smelled like rotten eggs) Then put in in GOOD soil. Four months later, it's just a log doing NOTHING! Not a LEAF or a ROOT!!. SO DISSAPPOINTED to have wasted all that money on this, and it's too late for a refund. NEVER AGAIN!!
I can't believe how nice my log has turned into a beautiful flourishing plant!! I can detect 3 more nubs trying to open up! I've been using rain water and I'm sure that helped it grow! It sits in a area with just some afternoon diffuse sunlight, I water it once a week and rotate it toward the sunlight twice a week,
