Roberta's Oriental Totem Pole
My husband and boys laughed at me when it arrived. I too was skeptical. After about 5 week I finally saw 6 little bumps/sprouts on the side of the log and called everyone in to see. LOL I didn't have any roots on the bottom but after 6 week decided to plant it in a pot per the instructions. I will see what happens now. It's been fun watching it and hope it doesn't disappoint
I followed instructions to the letter and 3 months later no roots just white moss on outside of plant. This is the 2nd time I have tried I'm done, All my other plants and trees are BEAUTIFUL.
Easy To Grow
I bought this last year and have enjoyed watching it grow. It is as easy as they say and it beautiful.
Can anyone tell me what
To do. It does smell. I really don't want to give up. What can I do @this point. I would appreciate any help. Please. I followed every step. Is this normal?
this is my 3rd one for grand children
just change the water at least 2 times a week and leaves pop out.
I have 4 on this last one.
leaves all year on the other two
fun for the grand children to start with water and then plant
Looked forward to this lovely plant and was meticulous in following directions. Every week when I change the water the water smells rotten.
This was to be a learning experience for my grandsons.
Save your money !
This is fun
I "logged in" as explained in presentation and according to printed directions the day this Totem Pole arrived. I felt kind of silly at first watching a log. Now after 3 weeks, I see 9 little bark bumps are beginning to show half inch criss cross cracks and root system is starting to show. This is such fun. I have had lots of indoor and outdoor plants in my time, but not sure when I have enjoyed watching one with curiosity and interest as much as this log. I left my log house in the mountains, this " log" caught my interest and fills a void. Thank you Roberta's Boys and QVC.
Very bad buy
I was so disapointed that my Totem Pole didn't grow. I guess Ill look at reviews a little closer from now on before I buy anything. I followed the directions and nothing grew.
This is the second totem pole that I purchased from QVC. The first one I gave as a gift and they had no problem. I just ordered one for myself and it is doing nothing. I know that it is supposed to be planted in 6 to 8 weeks even without roots but this is now the fourth week and not even a bump or root on the log. I have changed the water twice a week have it in a glass jar with three inches of water. The first one I purchased rooted with no problem and you could see a change; but not this one.
Strong rancid smell
I received my totem pole and put it in a big enough container with 3 inches of water in it like the instructions said. Wellll it didn't take long for it to start stinking like something AWFUL!! So I changed the water 3 times a week and I EVEN rinsed the part of the totem pole off that was in the water thinking that would help with the smell.....NOPE, STILL STUNK. It stunk up my kitchen. I called and got my money back.
I received this "plant" as described. Was a bit disappointed because I sort of let myself believe I would get the stem a bit thicker - like it was displayed. I set it in water as instructed and am now waiting for the "budding" to start. My stem was a bit on the slender side. I am certain this will turn out fine. 4 stars because it arrived on target, because it was a bit more "slender" than expected.
Side note: I already had to rescue this poor plant. My bulldog Moose thought it was a play stick and started to chomp on it. I caught it early - not sure Moose understood the scolding and why I took away his stick.
Didn't grow for me
I believe I bought 2 or 3 of these. Everyone of them died. One almost immediately-the rest over a few months. Followed directions.
