Rapid Ramen Set of 2 Microwavable Ramen Noodle Cookers
great for teen or college student
My son found this item quick and easy to use and the noodles were cooked perfectly and the whole stovetop method was skipped!! :)
What A JOKE
I have been cooking ramen in the microwave for years. The bowls that come with the MARUCHAN and CHOW MEIN Brand noodles are the same, as this over priced item, for less than a Dollar you get The Bowl, and a meal. Just save and reuse the Bowl.
This is my way.
1)Place Ramen in Bowl
2)Add seasoning packet, i think it takes better to cook it in
3)cover with water, do not use to much as the raw noodles float
4) cook in microwave for 3 min.
Note for those that are like me and eat 2 packs for a meal, and you microwave does not have room for both at the same time, cook second bowl while you enjoy the first.
Money Saved, and if the bowl fails, i have never had one fail yet, you know how to get a replacement fast and easy.
Great little Ramen cooker
I bought this about a year ago at a Home and Garden show in Sacramento. I mainly bought it for my son who loves Ramen noodles and of course I had to make them on the cooktop. Now he can make it for himself. Thank you to the people who invented this who I think were at the show.
Just a plastic tub!
I saw this when presented on ST and was really impressed. I did laugh when I took this out of the package. I gifted one to my neice who is mentally challenged for one of her xmas gifts. If you prefer just the noodles wo the liquid, this is for you. Wish I had thought of this product so I could make more money to spend on QVC. Noodles taste better when cooked in a small sauce pan!!
Not perfect, but better than a stove
I was excited to discover this--I don't mind admitting that I love Ramen noodles. It's not a perfect way to cook them, but it works decently. The main problem is that during microwaving, some of the water boils over and most of the rest cooks off. So, at least in my microwave, what I'm left with is pretty much just the noodles. With only noddles, you definitely don't want to use the whole spice pack--maybe 1/2 to 3/4.depending on your taste. I plan on experimenting with 1) less cooking time, 2) a lid and 3) a little more water. My guess is that these won't really be a solution, so I'll probably end up adding a little water back into the cooked noodles and just heating it up. Regardless, I still find it alot more convenient than a stove, but that's me.
My college boy is HAPPY!
These are great. My son in college is very happy with them.
These are great
I use these a lot and they work perfectly, just as described. I like to keep a big bag of frozen veggies in the freezer and throw a handful in with the noodles prior to cooking...comes out great and makes a nice little quick meal when I'm in a hurry.
So who likes to admit they eat ramen?! LOL but if you indulge in the "lazy" meal this couldn't be simpler or quicker! Super easy for a fast meal when you don't have time to cook. Does what it says!
Works as advertised
The rapid ramen cooker is similar to the throwaway bowls that come with instant noodles, but this is heavier plastic and can be reused. It cooks a standard size block of ramen in 4 minutes and you don't have to dirty a pot! I stir the noodles with a fork halfway through cooking and they turn out perfect (for my taste). If you like your ramen really soupy with lots of water, then this cooker is not for you. My only criticism of this gadget is the price, honestly there isn't much to this bowl and for the price you should receive 3. If the price goes down, I'll buy more.
Works Great For Me!
Loving all types of noodles, I bought this to save time with the Romen....and also another style that cooks all types of noodles & spaghetti, angel hair, macaroni ,etc.
That works great and has a lid to measure & drain .
Since I never save Ramen noodles, I don't care about having a lid for this but might be good idea for others who do....
I do like the fact that 4 minutes cooks them perfecto-tender without being too squishy!
Also, it says you really don't want to add all the seasoning especially if you want to save on eating too much sodium,,,,I added about 3/4 of the packet. Could have added a little less since you only add about a cup of water.
If you like, You can add small some fresh broccoli pieces & mushrooms to the noodles while cooking also!
Parsley, chives, etc., the list of your favs goes on! Through in some left over cooked chicken pieces afterwards too!
