i have been looking for the right pot to do pasta dishes. this pot is that pot. the shape is the key to this pot and the easy of making the dishes. Rachael is right that this pot has many uses but pasta is the reason why i bought this pot. one factor you will have to over look is the price but it is worth it. Great pan Rachael. i would recommend this pot to any who enjoys cooking.

After reading all of the great product reviews on this Rachel Ray Hard Anodized 8 qt. oval pasta pot, I decided to go ahead and purchase it. I am so glad I did! The shape is wonderful and it does heat up so quickly. I am thinking about getting the 5 quart to go with it! Great purchase!

I bought this pot, mostly because of the shape. Corn on the cob, lasagna, and spaghetti are perfect in here. It was larger than I expected and holds A LOT of food. Love the pour spout, especially for the foods above. Agree that lid may slip if you're not concentrating where you place it. Any oval pot will do that. The hard anodized is thinner than the Cooks Essentials, but that would be my only very minor complaint. Significantly more substantial than her other pots of the same size and shape.

not just pasta--soups stews pot roasts--BUT PLEASE GIVE US THE 5QT WITH THE SAME SMALL HANDLES! PULEEEEZE? LOVE IT.

I received this pain a little over a week ago and I can say I've only used it once. I will say the pan heated evenly through out. I was little worried about that considering the shape of the pan and how it was going to fit on my burner. Clean up was easy.

I love the shape of this pot. It fits on the stove and has even heating. I love the fact that I can use the back burner for another sizeable pot. Clean up is super easy because nothing sticks. The only negative thing I can say is that when you stir the pot, you have to hold it because it slides on the burner because the bottom of the pot is so smooth.

This Pasta Pot looks and feels like a quality piece of cookware. However, I have to agree with other reviewers who have stated the lid can fall into the pot too easily and the spaghetti spills out if you try to use the lid to drain the fluid. These flaws should have been fixed before Rachael Ray included it in her line of cookware. Overall, it does cook evenly and it is great for cooking long pasta. I do not drain my pasta from this pot but use a colander instead.

I received this pot from my mom as a gift. (THANK YOU MOM!!!) I LOVE this pot (I have chili cooking in it as I type this!) I cook pasta, stews, soups, chili etc in this pot and it is excellent! I can fit other pots on my stove to cook other things at the same time. Clean up is a breeze. If you are on the fence, jump off and purchase this pot. You will not be disappointed!

This pot is deceptively large and can hold a large quantity of pasta, soup, stew, etc. I love the shape and overall look. It cleans up beautifully. Genius design.

I purchased this product for my wife since she was always asking me for a good pasta maker pot. I realize that this pot is not only good for pasta, but its also perfect for making Colombian style soups, and to cook tamales as well. It has been with us for more than one year and it is our prefer pot. Needless to say, this pot is never loaned to anyone. Good heat resistant handles and glass top. I recommend it to anyone that enjoys cooking and is looking for a pot that is diverse and it is not round but oval. A big plus when cooking pasta.
