Puzzle Trax 20-pc. Playset with 2 LED Vehicles & Storage Bag
Great and Awful
I got this for my Grand daughter last year for Christmas. It was "the hit" gift." However, the cars, even with new batteries, have gotten sluggish. I am so disappointed that I am unable to get additional cars! I realize, at this price, I could just get a new set; but don't want another track; the house is too small and it is a waste of product - we, Americans, waste and pollute enough without being forced to buy something we don't want or need in order to get a "part" of the product. Overall, I would recommend this product with stipulations . . .
Worth less than 1/2 of what they are charging...
I was so excited to get this for my 5 year old nephew. This is a great idea and a really junky execution. As other folks have said, getting the batteries in is a challenge, but I managed it. And the cars DO work as shown. But the switch on the cars would be almost impossible for a 5 year old hand to work. They are teeny weeny and stiff. The track is an interesting idea but more of it would be better. This isn't quite a dollar store item but it sure is reminiscent of one. It's going back.
Didn't work. My 4 year old was excited to put it together. Only to find out it didn't do anything. Don't waste your money.
Kids Love IT!
The autistic students in my class love this train. When I saw the train I thought how it would help my students' focus on something with movement, lights and was fun to watch.
It worked. Once I figured out how to load the batteries;everything went great!
The students figured out how to keep the trucks from colliding. They figured out how to connect the tracks. When there was a problem with the track connection, they fixed it! The puzzle with the trucks was a hit with my students! By the way, my autistic students are in their teens and they are male.
When more than one plays with it, I am amazed how they cooperate by not removing a truck from the track and just watch the action happen.
Excellent Value; Grandkids Love Them
We had 3 and 4 year old grandkids coming and had nothing to offer them for play. Got one of these and it was a big hit. So big that we ordered another to send to them so they could increase the size of the track. The people who complained about the screws should know better. With kids toys, you need to keep all sizes of screwdrivers around. The size is also the size you use to tighten eyeglasses. No big deal. Great fun for $20. The 3 year old came down and played by himself every morning so the adults could sleep. Highly recommend.
My son received this as a gift or else I'd return it. The batteries are very fiddly to install and there are "wrong" ways to assemble the track in spite of what the box says. The cars constantly crash into one another and frequently jump the track. My set included 4 "stopper" type pieces that are apparently useless. This toy should come with a seizure warning the flashing lights have given me a headache already.
Cute Idea - Bad Execution
I ordered 2 of these for my great nieces who both love puzzles. In trying to get them ready to gift, I couldn't get the batteries in them and one even had a defective screw so I felt like they would be frustrated trying to change batteries--so back they went.
not worth the $$$
I got 2 sets of these for our grandsons. They played with them for less than 30 minutes and the vehicles stopped working. I had gotten at x-mas, checked to see if they worked and put away for b-day in Feb so could not send back. Cute but don't waist your $$$
Gift for child with broken leg
My 3 1/2 yr old grandson broke his femur bone. Since he can only lay down on his back or roll over on his stomach this was a great toy for him. You do need a screwdriver for glasses to get into the incredibly tiny screw opening for the batteries. The bus works great however the firetruck already goes slower and the light doesn't work. He loves that he can change the track anyway he wants.
Had to really jiggle the batteries to make one of the vehicles work. After using for about 20 minutes, one of the LED lights stopped working. Can't see this lasting for very long. Fortunately, this wasn't a gift.
Great for preschoolers
Purchased this for my grandson for Christmas. We tried it out and what we really liked is the creative ways you can reconfigure the track. We quickly realized that we need more track than the twenty pieces provided so we promptly ordered a second set. We can hardly wait till Christmas to give it to him. He loves putting puzzles together. About the complaint about the difficulty of installing batteries, I recommend purchasing a micro-screw driver set. They make the task easier.
Little Ones Love It STILL
Got this for my kids last Christmas they are now 10 and 7 and they still love playing with it. Durable and fun!
